Empty box and bubble wrap from the realreal

I ordered from the Real Real and just received my empty box, that was clearly re-taped. This is so frustrating, the item is a 7.5k gold bracelet. How do we stop this from happening? They need cameras in all delivery trucks watching these drivers. This has me sick to my stomach and very upset. This was a gift for my wife for Valentines day. I have sent pictures and contacted them along with UPS, I am convinced these drivers open things to see what inside and keep what they want. Just sickens me.
Very sorry to see this. I am definitely not a huge fan of TRR. But you shouldn't place blame on UPS so fast. Many times UPS and FedEx retape boxes on our behalf not even aware they could be retaping an empty box. It's hard to get a job as a route driver and probably very easy to get a low wage job in a Real Real warehouse where you actually see and hold the item going inside. Just saying. I hope they compensate you sooner rather than later.

Thanks for the response, I was able to pull footage from all of my cameras and sent that in as well. I am hopeful they will do the right thing. I really would love to have the one of a kind bracelet though. We need more honest people in this world. Thanks again, you give me hope.

Paul, I also had a situation similar to this happen with a VCA ring. The box was slit open on the bottom, retaped on the bottom after the item was removed.

Quick question, was the item in question shipped from the Brentwood, CA store? That’s where my (stolen) ring was shipped from. If it was shipped from there, that’s where the problem stems from — either at TRR or UPS.

Luckily, I am a VVIP consignor and buyer. So, they took my concerns seriously and resolved the issue as quickly as a large company can.

However, I would open a case with PayPal or your credit card company and do not close it until the case is completely resolved and your $ is back in your account.

Hopefully, you will find something lovely for your wife for Valentines Day.

I now try to be home when I receive packages. I examine the package with the UPS person present to see if the box has any evidence of tampering before I sign for it.
