Hi there,

Has anyone bought this bag yet? Do you like it? Are you worried at all about the corners rubbing off? The edges or corners remind me of the Coach legacy hobos from a few years ago and as I remember they had a lot of color rubbing off the corner issues. The base of this bag seems to have a similar shape which is prompting my question. I tried this bag on at the local store yesterday and it is gorgeous - super lightweight and super easy to carry. It is a hobo with the option to go crossbody, all gorgeous leather, seems like a no brainer to get it right?
I also tried on the speedy 25 and with nothing in it, it seemed a tad heavier than the hobo. I'm okay with the bag relaxing so not worried about that. I also thought the Empreinte Speedy would check all boxes - iconic style in gorgeous leather than can be worn crossbody - can't get any more perfect than that.
The Melie is really more "me" than the speedy is - the corners are what I'm worried about. Any words of wisdom from someone who has been there, done that? Thanks!

Both are beautiful bags. It depends on your lifestyle. In the Melie you have to spread the opening and dig more in a deeper bag. The shoulder strap needs to be right for your shoulders. The Speedy is more of a bag where you organize and reach in to get things out.

Organization and me are not best friends, even though I try hard! The leather Melie straps are fantastic - both the shoulder and the crossbody. It's just the corners that have me concerned - seems to be an issue with any bag with a pointy corner unfortunately.

I bought the Melie in Noir. I haven't had it long enough to know about the corner wear. I had some of the Coach legacy bags and found if you conditioned the corners they didn't wear. However I'm not recommending that for Melie. The empreinte embossing will lessen over time. Time will tell about corner wear. I can tell you it is so comfortable to carry. Both straps fit well. I don't have a problem finding my things and don't feel I have to dig. It's a gorgeous bag and I recommend it

Thanks tlo - I remember you being active on the coach forum around that time too. The bag is very lightweight and super comfortable to carry, that is for sure! I wasn't going to condition it, because I know that would void anything from lv, but I was just wondering if it could be a potential source of concern. Thanks for your input, appreciate it. The bag looked fantastic on you btw!

did you post pics - I think this bag is so Me and I am debating if I should go to the boutique and try it or wait until all of the spring bags have come out. Congrats can't wait to hear more about the bag

That last picture will sell a 1000 bags I'm sure - broken in so nicely! I walked in yesterday meaning to look at a dozen different bags and walked out with this - something about it even thought it had no zippers on top - just so easy to carry and so light weight (esp after Coach!) and now to see it broken in like this? I'm in heaven! I think I will keep mine and take a chance with the corners!

Thank you nanrao!!! That last pic was the first day I carried it I'm a sucker for a pretty slouch and Melie slouches so well. Congrats on yours. It's such a gorgeous bag!

Corner wear is inevitable for Empreinte leather. I have a 2011 Citadine PM which it's corners are a bit worn off. Noticed same issue with 2015 Twice. No problem so far with 2014 Saint Germain PM, probably it's carried over the shoulders and doesn't hit the hips. I still love it. I wonder if the Melie is lighter than the Bagatelle.

Personally the Spontini wins my heart, that's on my wish list but it's just a tad too big for me.
