i am bipolar i love the look but i would have preferred them in platinum with a better setting plus up close the stones did not seem to be of utmost quality. gorgy color yes but too much of a jardin inside amost milky kwim

of course i am only saying from pictures in real life those could very well be turn out to be good (not very but good)quality

It looks like the jewels got coated in hairspray. I'm sure the are of decent quality. I think jewelers would want to lend out their first-rate jewels to build their brand. I doubt the jewels are milky IRL. They probably just got really covered in hair product or make spray or something. I see those stones and I just want to throw them into my ultrasonic cleaner!

LOL pictures can be deceiving.. the close up is taken by TMZ's camera and probably magnified to the extreme so i wouldn't judge the gem's quality base on a paparazi pic. it was the only close up i can find so i apologize LOL

nah no need to . as i said they could be better in reality (aslo i do not think it is hairspray i am sure those ladies know bettter and put the jewels on last as one always should ).

also they are lorraine schwartz who dfoes nice designs but is not neccesarily known for her quality

large emrald are quite rare and not always top quality that would also explain the relatively low pricetag assumeing it is the real price (if those where top top notch they would have been in another league)

again i love the look and what i say is just specualtion based on pictures and my experience with lorraine schwartz

in general, emeralds do not sparkle. I know of someone with a 4.5 carat emerald from Tiffany, and it really isn't sparkly. Just a rich green. Also, please don't put an emerald into an ultra sonic cleaner! it would most likely crack.

This is my first post here!

Yeah, they were Columbian...actually more dirty than I'd expect from a high end jeweler, even for a type 3 stone. Then again, they were absolutely gargantuan in size. Still cool, but I like cleaner stones, personally.

Oh, please do NOT get me wrong....wouldn't kick a gift horse in the mouth, if it was offered up to my hand and ears. That carat size is so over the top for emerald, especially. I just would have rather had some done w/less visible naked eye inclusions (but then again, that is the nature of the beast w/a stone like an emerald [I always found it "funny" that they are one of the top four, yet aren't very hard or clean]). I've never kicked a good columbian accent stone of out my bed (errr, ring mount), however. :)

I wish she had some type of necklace on too.

I was surprised people kept calling it the 'green earrings, etc" and didn't know they were emeralds. They were georgeous!

DIDJU notice that, ladybug? NO ONE wore necklaces, except that one chick w/the gigantasaur neck cuff. And then that was so over the top, it kinda balanced out everyone else NOT wearing anything. weird.

I thought the lack of neck bling on the whole was different, but it worked out for most, in contrast to the finger bling and cuffs.

I was reading a lot of other blogs and other comments about her outfit. I think it's probably a hit or miss with different people.

Personally i think she stood out in her own way. with my star stalking of Angie, she has really toned down this year with more simple cut and solid color dark/earth tone dresses. I think with a black dress for oscars, people immediately think diamonds or pearls. But she went with a unique and freshing choice and I think it complimented her hair and features very well. Angie will always be in the league of her own with her timeless style and she may not always be fashion forward but I think the Emeralds green was very memorable in a good way.
It really went well with her beautiful brown hair and brown eyes, had it been another person with other features it might not have worked. But i think she went with the basic rule of accessorizing: a dash of color with a solid black dress; statement earrings (no necklace clutter bare chest), statement ring (just one, no other ring clutter), Black clutch (no other bling to clash with her jewel)

I believe it's a very suitable combo, because of the outfit it made the jewels pop. there are other ways to dress up this outfit but she did it very well. I almost expect her to do something like this... stoodout but not too flashy (again i think other ppl look great in Neil Lane and Van cleef)

I totally agree with you!

I thought they were Fred Leighton ? Does anyone know the song "Green Earrings" by Steely Dan ? I can't get that song out of my head now

She has green eyes. :D
Which I think is why she went with the emeralds so they could bring out her eyes. I personally like the choice she made of staying neutral but bringing that POP of color.

I totally want an Apple Ring Pop right now.

I agree with your analysis - good job! I think she looked stunning - everything about her was perfect!
