Elsa Peretti Bone Cuff Decision/Discussion Thread

All this talk of the Bone Cuff and Peretti inspired me go to the Tiffany website to check out new Peretti pieces (I'm a huge Peretti fan).

This may be old news to many of you, but in case some of you, like me, were not aware...
The Bone Cuff now comes in six sizes. Wow! When I bought my Bone Cuff, sizes were very limited, and the Small was super hard to find.

Here are the sizes below for the Small Bone Cuff. I quickly checked the Medium Bone Cuff, and it is also offered in the same six sizes. This cuff is so popular and beloved! Bone Cuffs for everybody!

I really love the look of two Small Bone Cuffs, each worn on one wrist. I wear a chunky watch on my left wrist, so that look doesn't work for me. However, I think it's super gorgeous. Here is the link to the Bone Cuff page with some modshots for inspiration:
I had no idea so many size options were available! This makes me happy. I'm hoping it means that there's a continuing large desire for Elsa Peretti's works:-)

Personally, I think the ring looks too "matchy matchy". Might work for something that's more subtle like a love bracelet and ring, but with something so bold I'd rather see it mixed up.
I totally agree. I like mixing up jewelry in interesting ways that esthetically work. My hands and wrists are thin and small. I doubt I could wear this ring at all, but I work near Tiffany on 57th and plan to go in and try it on. I doubt it will work on me but if it did and I brought it, I would not wear it with my cuff.

Hi! This will be a tough ring to guess. Thick metal band rings are where you need the exact length. The reason is because the ring is so tall/thick.

I prefer it on the fourth finger as it's a bold look, and I like bold rings on the fourth finger.
To me, the fourth finger shows off bold rings the best while still keep the hands looking nice.

However, if your fingers are short on the lower half of the fourth finger (the bottom where rings land), the ring won't look good. It will make the finger look even shorter.

This photo below (from one of the photos you posted above) is what I mean. The ring in my opinion is too tall as it is almost to her knuckle. There needs to be a bit of skin showing below the knuckle to keep the finger looking thin. This person has thin fingers, yet because the ring is too tall for her finger, the ring just looks like a big fat Band-Aid to me.

To give another an example of what I am talking about, here is a photo of a nice fit (photo is from Tiffany website). You can see there is skin showing below her knuckle. This person's fingers actually seem thicker than the above person's fingers. However, the ring is much more gorgeous on her because the lower half of her finger is probably longer, so she can wear a taller/thicker ring. Therefore, with the same ring, there is skin showing below her knuckle because her fingers are longer. The eye can still see the beautiful line of her finger. It looks like an artistic ring on her, not a wide Band-Aid.

If the fourth finger does not work, my second choice is on the middle finger, like the photo below. I am not a fan of big, bold silver rings on the index finger as I find that look a bit aggressive, moto-chic, which is not my aesthetic.

I hope that made sense. That's just my opinion of course. Jewelry style & fit is 100% preference, so it's what you love.
Hope that helps you decide! You could order two sizes to try it on your fingers and keep the size you like best. Tiffany online service is excellent.

The problem is with stock photos is they often PS the product in/on later.

ITA with you on the split ring and the ring finger The person in the real-life photo seems to have very long finger length too.

My guess is for the average person, the ring would be more appropriate for the middle or pointer finger - whichever is the longest.

I agree! I have the XL split cuff and it's not for everyone. You have to have a LONG, thin arm from wrist bone to elbow.
Very dramatic on the right type of arm...I assume the ring would be the same.

Another couple screenshots of the ring. I personally don't like how it looks on this person on the 4th finger. Still waiting for stock to become available here.

I agree with you; the ring does not look good on her finger (looks like a big band-aid to me). This ring is going to be tough to wear because the band is so wide. Also, the split cuff is meant to be worn with the solid side at the top and the split at the bottom, facing toward the body, like @skyqueen arm which looks gorgeous on her.

However, if you notice, most people have to wear this ring upside down, as in the photo you posted. I think it's because it you wear it with the solid side at the top of the finger, it will really look like a band-aid and not attractive on the finger.

Even Tiffany has the model wearing it both ways to show options, but the true split cuff is meant to be solid at the top, then split on the way down.

If you are looking for a Peretti silver ring, have you tried Sevillana? Since you like a ring on the pointer finger, I think this ring looks great. It's bold, yet because of the open design, it's not a harsh aggressive look. I actually think this ring looks better on the pointer finger than the fourth finger. Just my opinion of course.

I love the Sevillana bangle. I almost bought it, but I decided no more black stones for me.
If Tiffany ever makes this in another stone, I would get one.

You never know, the split cuff ring may look great on you! I hope it comes in your sizes soon so you can try it on.

Thank you for the additional thoughts and suggestions. I am currently side tracked with some pasquale bruni pieces and I'm thinking if I just save for other delicate looking pieces that are more 'my style'.

The suggestions you made are lovely, but don't sing out to me. I popped into Tiffany and spoke to my SA and she's going to let me know when it's in. If it's love, I'll buy it. If not, there will always be something else.

The cuff on @skyqueen is just jaw dropoingly beautiful. She has the most perfect arms for the cuff.

I'll update when I go try it on. Thank you! And that is a lovely bangle too!

Keep in mind that wide rings are hard to remove when you swell. I love the style of the ring but it would be strictly a winter ring for me.
And did you all notice how well Tiffany pieces are promoted recently?
I see the pieces everywhere, movies, on celebrities and influencers…
The swelling bit doesn't worry me. It's open at the back, ie not fully wrapping around.
