My mother-in-law bought a fake Monogram Petite Bucket. I of course said something and brought along my authentic one to let her see the differences. She does not care at all that it is obviously fake and carries it (she is not one to concern herself with anyone else's opinion - that's one reason she is so awesome). But I get a little squeamish when we are both attending a function or going out for dinner and I carry my LV and she carries her fake.

ok i need to edit my post.. i don't say it to people when they are a customer and i am the salesperson. i want their money after all. but only if i'm off the clock (and out of my store) do i say something... or stare hard enough so they notice me staring at it. i know it's none of my business what they do with their money, after all, that's what people say about me and my money and all that, but it's also none of our business when a terrorist comes by and kills our family members, yet it happens anyway, so might as well. everyone's nosy.

Nah, I never say anything because its none of my business and thats just kind of too cruel for me to publicly humiliate someone like that. Although it is weird seeing fakes, especially in my town where the only "boutiques" near by are the Dooney and COACH outlets. For instance today, I saw the most horrible, obviously fake LV at the mall. It was a black multicolor pochette with maybe 5 colors total and the same colors would be right next to each other. I wanted to say something after the girl just stared at my COACH like I had just killed her dog, but shrugged it off.

I wouldn't say anything unless they asked for my opinion.
I don't like fakes but don't feel I have the right to comment on what other people carry.

eh, i guess. but IMO, they're strangers, they'll see you that one moment and you disappear for the rest of their life. they can take it with a grain of salt, or have it completely ruin their day, oh well. they shouldn't be carrying a fake bag around to begin with.

I would really be careful doing that to strangers...they may react pretty violently or loud... You can't predict how a stranger is going to behave, and everyone isn't civilized....

I lived in Raleigh for a while. There is a LV store in Triangle Town mall on Capital Blvd....it opened back in 2004 (I think in Saks Fifth Avenue). Oh, I pretty sure there is a Coach store there to. That area is filled with well to do people...doctors, engineers, professors, etc.

I think most people know their bags are fake unless they were given it as a gift and are so clueless with never seeing a real one. I would never tell a stranger. If a friend had a fake and asked my opinion of it I would tell her. One of my dear friends was given 3 fake LV bags as gifts by this very sweet old lady she knows. This sweet old lady was just trying to be kind to my friend during her long illness and my friend will carry the fakes just because of who gave them to her. She has her real LV's too. I can say her fakes are pretty well made and the people at work think they are real so she just laughs about it.
I have seen somr horrible fakes and I can't believe people aren't embarassed with them. There are better bags at Target that would look nice than the fakes. Someone I know (not real well) sells fakes and has sat there and told me they are real and I just laugh and tell him I don't wear plastic bags.....sad thing is people have bought them off him.
