IMG_5702.JPG IMG_5703.JPG I just got the pebble turnlock edie today  I've been searching for a new purse and saw this one online and did not like it. I fell in love with it in person though. The oxblood/gunmetal combo is gorgeous!

Hi ladies, it's been eons since I've posted. Last year in March, we lost our home, two pets, and all our possessions in a house fire, and handbags were low on the list when it came to beginning to replace all our stuff.

However a year later and still unable to return home, I feel like I need ONE good thing just for me to keep from losing my mind in the battle with our insurance company. I lost a pretty substantial collection including some 65th anniversary legacy bags and in my search for ONE bag that will make me happy and keep me happy living with a single bag vs a collection, I stumbled across the turnlock Edie.

I've only seen her in pictures so I'm relying on you ladies to give me accurate feedback. How is her leather? Phoebe diehards complain that she is plasticky. I love soft, pliable leather, and I adore smooshy leather, but I don't mind a bag that doesn't collapse into a puddle as long as the leather is soft and chewy.

I also can't decide between grabbing a plum/light gold from the Bay at a decent savings, or grab a black/light gold new from Coach online at FP - is she worth it at FP? She would be my very first FP purchase as my entire collection was outlet FP deletes or NWT from the Bay.

Help?

I am so sorry for all you and your family have been through! It is bad enough losing your home and all of your possessions, but pets too. That is just so heartbreaking. And having to fight with insurance is the pits. Better days are ahead!

I have a turnlock Edie (in plum and gold) that I will give you a great deal on. I do not use it and prefer my 31 instead. It's a beautiful bag but a bit heavy for me (I have shoulder issues).

It is not puddly or plasticky in my opinion, just a bit heavy because of the chains. But it is a very nice bag. The leather is thicker than Phoebe and stands up.

I'm so sorry to hear all this! I'm in pain right now as one of my dogs is currently ill and we have to make some tough decisions for him. My prayers are with you!

As for the turnlock Edie, my mom is a Edie/Phoebe/Maggie purse gal. She bought the dark blue, gunmetal turnlock Edie last year. It is her favorite bag of all time! It is lightweight even with the semi-chain straps. The leather is soft and has puddled a bit but she loves it. She does say the leather seems a bit thinner but thinks it's because of the type of leather they used for this bag (maybe so it wouldn't be heavy with the chains?) she still loves it and is eyeing her second turnlock Edie.

I hope this helps, good luck!

Thank you :)

I've considered the navy especially since some reviews said it's closer to black than blue but I'm just not sure without seeing it. Thoughts?

Oh wow this was unexpected! Could you perhaps PM me?

Thank you

It is a dark blue bordering on black. Since it has dark gunmetal, it does make the bag look dark but also because of the gunmetal, it's easy to see it's not black-if that makes sense?
