Well...I don't care for that at all. I looked at the other designs by the same designer and I don't like any of them.

If you are picking b/t Tiffany, Cartier and HW and want a brand name, I think Cartier and HW would be a better place to spend your money. Like Ame posted, if you don't want a brand name, your money could go so much farther elsewhere too.

1.8 is the center stone. the setting is 1.27 in total carat weight. i tried on a 1.2 carat and it was pretty but i felt like it was a little overshadowed by the pave.

would you ladies say that tiffany has the best e rings as far as diamonds or would it be harry winston or cartier? i heard that blue nile has quality diamonds but i don't know any jewelers in particular that could do a custom setting for me.

There are tons of jewelers that do custom work- look at Pricescope if you are considering this route. Tons of info regarding custom work and vendors people have worked with before- it's like this board, but for diamonds. Loads of vendors sell loose stones too, apart from Blue Nile and you can learn more there. $50k is a HUGE amount of money to spend w/o thorough research, IMO. Even local jewelers in your area can do custom work for you.

I did some more research and I saw two settings I like with Van Cleef - Opera and Icon. http://www.vancleef-arpels.com/en/van-cleef.html?zone=am#/bridal/

And there's this one from Cartier, http://www.bridal.cartier.us/#/brid...-rings/ballerine/n4188400-ballerine-solitaire.

What do you ladies think? And I agree, the Tiffany's is looking a little too cocktail for me.

I like VCA's Opera Setting and I was thinking about the ballerine setting as well. If I was buying Cartier, I would definate by the ballerine setting. It is beautiful.

Could not agree more.

I bought my ring from Good Old Gold and will be having Leon Mege custom make me a new setting soon. If you want something with micropave, he's your man.

I also like the Embrace and Legacy more as an e-ring if you want a ring from Tiffany. I love 90% of the e-rings from Tiffany but not the one you picked out if you my honest opinion. It's more like a right hand ring than e-ring and you won't be able to wear a band with it on the same finger!!!

If you are set on spending the money on the brand, then DEFINITELY the 1895. I don't care for the ballerine, it's too cocktaily and fashioney and not bridal enough.

Must say that Ame and Elizat have given GREAT advice here. Do check out Pricescope- it's a great place for diamond/gem info.

$50K is a fair budget. I personally much prefer something custom and handmade especially when you're working in this type of price range.

Leon Mege does amazing work.....as does Mark Morrell. There are many others as well.

Then again, if you LOVE the Schlumberger (I have his 16-stone X-O band in platinum and love it), then GO FOR IT.

I don't know if you're having doubts.....but when I fall in love with a ring, truly LOVE it, I don't give 2 thoughts to what anyone else thinks.
