E-ring dilemma: switch or not?

Thanks again for all your input. I guess I'll look into more sparkly wedding bands. Only thing is I think a pave wedding band wouldn't really go with this design...guess I have to look for an antiquey sparkly band! It is meaningful to keep what he chose for me, and I know he did stress in looking for unique designs and looked around a lot.

DH and I aren't that terribly sentimental w/ the metal and stone on my finger, we're more sentimental about the meaning behind it.
So we've made the switch and we're BOTH happy about it :D

I love the ring your DF selected, it's really beautiful:heart:

That said, although I LOVE the bottom photo, it's important for you to know that micropave like that can be VERY delicate and you cannot stack other rings against it.
Is that an issue for you?
If not, get what you want.

oh wow I LOVE the one you got. I think this is FAR more unique than a Pave band, and probably far less maintenance with less smaller stones to worry about.

I'd stick with the one he got you - it's BEAUTIFUL, and the first (?) diamonds he got you. That should mean a lot, and maybe later in life you can get some more sparklies!

I tend to stray away from Pave... sometimes I think it can "cheapen" the look of a ring. Instead of looking like diamonds, it just looks kinda like... IDK, crushed diamond pieces.. When DH and I were looking at mine, I wanted plain and big. And that's what it is :)

Thanks guys! I didn't know that micropave was delicate and didn't stand up to wear and tear. I had a pave style sapphire ring that I wore every day for a couple years without an issue but probably wouldn't want to risk diamonds falling out. :nogood:

Will let you guys know what wedding band I choose!

Both rings are gorgeous! I like the origional best. Did you ever think that you can make up for what it's missing in your weding band? Honestly, as one who often returned things my bf and later DH bought, first, you will be sorry and wish you had he origional, no matter how much you like the new one, and second, he will lose interest in trying to please you. Take my advice- there are many more rings in your future. Keep this one and you won't be sorry!

+1 from me too!

I prefer the one that he gave you based on looks alone, but once you throw in the fact that HE picked it FOR you...no contest.

But, thats just my opinion, and its going to be on your finger every day, so do what you need to do. If you know that looking at it day in and day out is going to annoy you, then swap it out, but make sure you're doing it for the right reasons - because its what you want, not because you want your ring to look sparklier and more impressive ;)

Enjoy!!!
