If the machine rejected you, it means the form must be manually stamped and processed by a customs officer. As far as Global Blue is concerned, you skipped this step of the process and technically left without presenting your forms to customs (who may have wanted to see that you had possession of the items and were taking them out of the country). There is no way of presenting again unless you find yourself back in the country again within 3 months of the purchase.

i actually will be in europe again but in paris instead of barcelona where the bag was originally purchased. i was considering presenting to customs but if the status said rejected by customs already, is there a point?

Can you mail completed and stamped forms back from the US? Two of my receipts were automatically refunded by Global Blue, but the other receipt appears to be Planet and did not see there location in the airport. Hoping I can still mail it back in.

They initially told me they were waiting to receive my form (their reply below).. FYI I validated them at the kiosk and the track status even showed it was processed and to be paid within 30 days, but then the status changed to waiting for forms.. Luckily I had a screenshot of the “processed” status and asked them to look into it. They got back to me after that they checked their database and processed it as a priority for me. I think you should get yours soon!

Hi.

Which planet payment email did you use to follow up on your VAT refund? Tried to submit multiple queries through their website but still have not received my VAT refund from my purchase last April 2023.

When are you going? If it is within 3 months of when you purchased it and can take the item with you along with the box and tissues etc I would do that - assuming the refund is material

has anyone submitted a form to planet payment lately? i scanned one form at the kiosk and that one says refund approved. one was scanned by the customs agent and status changed to refunded the next day but still waiting for actual payment to credit card 4 days later

my global blue form that i scanned at kiosk went from processing to refunded on wednesday and payment hit my credit card thursday..seems much faster than planet payment

Did you have to mail in the form? My Planet tax refund took 2-3 weeks to process. Global blue is faster, but the exchange rate + service fee for refund to credit card is much higher than that of Planet 😭

nope. just scanned at kiosk and with the customs agent. both switched to refund processing status next day

got the refund on my card for the one the customs agent scanned exactly one week later. the one scanned at the kiosk still hasn’t changed to refunded status yet
