Thank you. When I saw a MacBook could fit in this bag I was sold. MacBook Air weighs practically nothing. I’m glad you brought up pouches. I never thought of it the way you explained. I don’t have any pouches and I was considering a couple since this bag was so large. I will not pack Pack this bag just because it is large. I’m loving the organization sections on the inside And I think they might be enough. I’m loving the inside color, making it easy to see my items. I love the look of this bag periodt… I guess I’ll be building a little arm muscle carrying this beauty. Thank you again. Any tips on leather care? This is my first Florentine leather bag. I got a dark color so I didnt have to worry too much about water spots.

I have a lot of Dooney Florentine handbags. I find the dark colors (black, navy, dark brown, dark green) to be relatively care free. I don't see water marks or spots or dirt. I generally don't condition or treat my leather handbags,
including the Florentine. I rotate handbags often, and just take a soft cloth and buff them up before putting them away or if I see any scratches or marks. This removes any surface dirt and refreshes the leather. (And I try to keep the inside clean and crumb free. That means no take-out food or greasy cookies inside, or near the outside of, my good leather handbags. We all have to make some sacrifices for our treasures.)

If after a few years a handbag looks like it needs some TLC, I will use a little Apple brand leather conditioner to moisturize the leather and blend in surface scratches. Just go lightly and keep any conditioners away from stitching, as it can stain and weaken the thread.

Sigh. Someone snagged the navy I wanted. I purchased fern green instead, new. It looks a bit misshapen. will I be able to get it to a better shape by stuffing with paper or bubble wrap or foam? It’s a little lighter than I wanted but I hope it patinas beautifully… again this is my first Florentine leather bag and I don’t want to ruin it when it gets here. I’m excited to sit it in my lap and pet it LOL

You can usually restore the shape of a Florentine handbag by stuffing it. Of course if the
leather is very soft, it can slouch naturally. But even then, when you put your things
inside, it should be ok.
As for the color, I think in real life it will look darker than the pics.

Hi. I purchased my first Dooney & Bourke Florentine domed buckle satchel, large navy. I’m wondering how heavy is this bag? I see all the videos say the florentine satchel is heavy. It’s so beautiful and I was worried I could not handle the weight. The bag I chose I’m hoping to tolerate. I have neck issues so crossbody bags are a no for me.

gorgeous i’m also researching this bag & can’t decide on this or the florentine buckley for ease of use.
i’ve been binge watching a lot of yt videos. this will also be my first dooney & bourke purchase.

Gosh I’ve been all over the videos, trying to decide if I want the mini or small Florentine satchel. I knew I wanted to try this domed buckle satchel. The shape of this bag is so beautiful to me. this came from eBay NWT. Since the price was nice I pulled the trigger. I’m so happy I did. It’s the perfect siize. I did see the smaller one but I didn’t think my 13 inch macbook would fit. after watching a YouTube video where tcg handbags put her laptop in this bag, I was sold. I’m truly loving it

I have both mini and small Florentine satchels. The mini is lighter and it's not
mini, it's just a medium sized bag. The small is a little larger,
and it's heavier. The length and base width on the small is a little bigger,
so it holds a lot more. One downside to the mini is the zipper on the top is
short. Some people have an issue with that and if your things are long,
you have to angle them to get them in and out.

I like both the mini and the small. These days my things fit more easily in
the small. Also look at the shoulder strap width and length. I hand carry,
so it's not an issue for me, but if you use the longer strap be sure that
it's wide enough and long enough for comfort for your shoulder or cross body carry.
In the old days the longer straps did not have a removeable center section.
I don't know if the newer models do, but if you are buying preloved, look
at that if you want the flexibility of shoulder and cross body carry. Of course,
the longer strap is removeable, so you could add your own strap.

I believe when I looked at the mini, the top didn't fold over as easily as on the small. That's why I was leaning towards the small, even though it is heavier.

Good point. Although it's hard to tell from pics, since it depends on how the bag is stuffed.
But in reality, the mini has less space inside and is not as tall as the small, when you put stuff into it, there will be less leather to slouch.

I started with the minis, since they were less expensive and my stuff fit. And I was able to collect lots of colors. But over time, I find my carry has grown and the small is
an easier fit. I don't like a fully packed handbag. I know others use the space
inside a handbag differently than I do.
