I like super large bags for putting my laundry in, if I have to visit IKEA etc. They are also great to carry hay in for your horse if you have one. But as a handbag, not really. If I need to carry that much of personal things I'd use a suitcase and some mode of transportation.
This was discussed a bit on the Balenciaga forum and it just confirms my suspicion that fashion designers sometimes just like to have a little laugh at the expense of their buyers. Or there was an unexpected surplus of leather.

It's not even on wheels. But I think it sort of illustrates what remainsilly described above.

I'm sure won't have any problem sneaking my kid into my carryon. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

I think it looks fun in the runway. But I think I have enough sense to know what work for me IRL. I'll just entertain it like I watch a silly shows. If it works, it works. If it's not, I'll leave it there. A mid size bag works best for me, but that's not fun on a runway. ;)

My reaction to oversized bags were, at least I can carry my (90 lb) dog around in a designer bag now! He's been missing out on all the fun of the smaller dogs.

That said, I'm a die-hard fan of the micro bag. Being petite, smaller bags look to normal sized on me and the micros are my crossbody bags. My wallet is happy have a break and may finally come out of hiding lol.

Perephrasing a famous saying i'll speak for myself - to every each occassion its own bag.
I love big bags.
I love hobos.
I apply principle - everything in moderation, my hobos are mid-sized and perfectly fit as my size and frame, so well serve their direct purpose - carry my daily stuff.
I have weekenders which are used for weekend get-aways, a couple of bigger totes which i use to lug bigger stuff or when i travel.
But when a designer offers massive oversized bags, or tiny-mini, i only take them as fashion objects good for catwalks rather than something really usable.

I honestly love this. I bring a large office bag to work, but still need to carry my lunch separately and a third bag for workout clothes. I also carry a purse, so I am draped with 4 bags going to work, which is a much worse look than one huge bag. I definitely need a huge bag for functional reasons, but dislike many of the popular options for a large tote aesthetically (don't want a neverfull and don't like my Garden Party). I like that gold Celine a lot actually. I would put a small purse in the huge bag and leave the bag at my desk during the day.

I am drearing the come back of big bags... I have never liked big bags or carrying too much stuff, and back in the time when wearing a small bag looked silly, my biggest handbag was the (reasonably sized) Balenciaga Day and I found it a bottomless pit. I think that is what made me become a clutch person. I now enjoy carrying small crossbodies/shoulder bags. My hope is that this runway trend is so over the top, it will take quite a while to stream down into something that makes sense street-wise.

I'm an avid thrift-shopper, I would LOVE one of this huge shoppers to take with me when I go thrifting... but they're totally out of my price range, so instead I take my cheap laundry bag with me....

They have started to pop up on eBay and other resale sites. In time, in time

A great way to have your kids enjoy travelling, they can play hide and seek in these bags.

... .

Yes, finally! Very chic! You said you are petite so maybe your dog will have to carry you around instead?

I've read the thread here on "designer bags you'd never own/buy" and I'm sort of shocked by all TPF:ers who would never wear a Balenciaga, like a City. How can you not love them?! My takeaway from such comments is that I'm just blessed with such remarkably good taste. While others are not :p  I hope for those of you who like these over-sized bags, that's your takeaway from this thread too :drinks:

It would be very interesting to see pics from anyone here who has bought one of these over-sized bags and how you use them. They are selling, so obviously not just for the runway.

It's what he does on walks, so I'm sure he'd be cool with it. He prefers the Chanel, but I'm kind of partial to the Coach one with Rexy pulling the stagecoach. Seems kind of fitting, you know? And it matches him. I do love that image. I'm hoping they'll release it in something smaller.

The oversized Gucci Sylvie is starting to appeal as a work bag that'd fit my laptop. Kinda wish they'd done a Dionysus though.

It could be them trying to crash into my luggage when I try to sneak out on my solo trip. [emoji16][emoji16][emoji16]

If anyone is selling, I hope it'd be a LV Petite Malle. [emoji16] I have a crush on that bag, but it's too expensive for such a small bag. I'd be more than happy to take over an outdated piece out of her hand. [emoji16]
