Does H store Paris wants to ship?

I'm not familiar about shipping. Is 414 euro too much?
for my case since I had purchased 3 bags, so it is the best for me to ship back for a few reason:
1. they deducted the 10% off right away, so you don't have to go through detaxe
2. if you carry it yourself, you actually won't get the 10% exactly since the Tax department will have commission fee and will pay you back in USD instead of Euro, so at the end you will loose another 2-3%
3.. so if you do the calculation right, if your total purchase is over 12000Euro and heavy stuffs, it is the best way to ship back

Thank a bunch for the info pretty99 :flowers:

Has anyone had any luck with having FSH mail over a SO bag to your home store during covid?

Aside from visiting FSH myself or having a local friend pickup and hold the bag for me until further notice, what other options are there?

You seem to have asked this question quite a few times with no response? I am guessing your BN SO is ready, the email which went into your junk box? I suggest you hit reply and ask the leather department these burning questions as they are different for different customers. Also I suggest you do not hesitate as they will put the bag back for sale on the shop floor if they don’t hear from you soon. Best of luck!

Thanks for your reply; actually, FSH and I have been exchanging emails for a while and just wanted additional insight.

I did receive an email mid June and that went to my junk box but they sent a followup email in August stating that it will be put up for sale Aug 15; that was the email which I received and replied.

They agreed to hold onto the bag until the end of the year because of COVID but will reevaluate the circumstances when time comes as cases are still very high in France.

They did send me photos of the bag which is very lovely.

I also asked if it would be possible for them to send the bag to my home store in Vancouver, Canada but they said they cannot export leather products.

The reason I posted once again in the forum was because I just wanted to know if anyone had any experiences of FSH being flexible in that they were able to ship the product home because of extenuating circumstances.

Of course, the best option would be to go in person should there be no global pandemic

This may be a moot point to you, but do you happen to have friends in Paris? If so I know people who did this recently: wire the payment, provide an authorization letter and photocopies of the IDs of the SO owner and the person they are authorizing to pick up the SO, and FSH was able to release the bag to that person who presumably then shipped the bag to their friend overseas.

It has been a while since I’ve heard of any direct overseas shipping from Paris. Also, because this is Hermes, I would not be surprised if decisions are made on a case by case basis (just like everything else). Doesn’t hurt to try asking again later if there’s been any changes and exhaust any options you can think of, as well as asking FSH if there are any other options...it has been a very special year. Best of luck!

Yeah, they also suggested that as an option but I'm just worried about damage by the courier during shipping.

Generally speaking, what's the best way to pack the box in terms of how much bubble wrap/padding and what's the best shipping option from Paris?

The reason why I responded and suggested asking Cuir for options was because all my SOs used to be shipped directly to me from FSH but they stopped because some other bags were not reaching their owners. I was happy enough to travel or they kindly held the bags for me if I was unable to visit within the original stipulated time period. In your case, I would request them to hold for as long as possible for now and assess the situation towards the end of this year. The best, least risky method would be for you to go and collect it only if you deem it safe. I have never shipped a bag myself but I guess the original packaging is safe enough if it's inside another box with some bubble wrap padding between. For Europe I suggest DHL or Hermes (the German logistics group) which Hermes themselves use. I just informed my SA via email that DH and I won't be crossing the Channel for the near future due to recent changes. He said he will miss me. Hahaha! Good luck and congrats in advance!

Just wondering but where are you located and since I'm in Canada, would that be a reason why they won't ship it?

My sis's SO was ready ealier this year. She lives in the UK, and Paris refused again last month to ship her SO to UK. I hope they would in the future adjust their regulation to allow shipments of leather goods. I highly doubt if we are able to travel freely in the near future.

Shipping to the US is not an issue. Canada may be different but I can't imagine why. I have never had a problem having bags shipped from Paris. One is on it's way to me now.

My understanding is that if you are not present in Paris but have a store house account with funds in it (or you create one and wire funds into it), they will ship overseas. The VAT will be waived but of course you are subject to duties when the package arrives in your country. Canada has a different arrangement with the EU than the US does. I will note again that the last time I had a leather item shipped to the US from a Paris store I was charged 20% duty; when entering in person even with Kellys etc. I have never been charged more than 3% (although I believe they can charge you 9%, they generally don't).

Sorry this may be unrelated, may I know how long have you been shopping at FSH to be offered an SO bag?

I always get quota bags at fsh but never dare to ask for an SO.. thank you
