Does black fit everything?

VP - most men (and women) don't have your level of style to pull that off. LOL! You are a grade above! Just that small snap of your outfit was killer!!! I'm going to shove it under my hubby's nose! Understand, the rest of us are humans. 😊 So, we need to stick to some rules so our "basics" don't clash.

That being said, I absolutely don't think black goes with everything. Spring / summer fabrics and colors can be light & frothy. For those, black can seem harsh. Also, for some earth toned neutrals (beige, camel, brown), an earth toned accent, navy, a gold metallic, or jewel tone could be a better option.

To me this is solved with having several handbags in several colors. Play with them. Push your limits. Combine things in new ways. But, please don't default to a black bag every time. There's so much else out there!

I think grey, taupe or even beige would be more versatile if you are only going to have one bag. These will match black/brown/navy easily. I see a lot of people who do the 'black matches everything!' thing and ruin a lovely bright, colourful summer outfit with a harsh black bag.

I think it depends on your style.
I find it is very hard to fit my black bag in when I'm wearing light or pale colours(mint, peach, baby blue...) in summer. The nude bags work better for me.

I usually wear blue clothes with brown shoes/belt, and I think I have found a bag design I like very much. Beige goes great with most colors, and the brown leather trim goes perfect with my shoes and belt.

For me, it does. Black is the safest color to buy for not clashing. I used to be a one handbag girl, and black was what I chose. Yes other colors can look better by complimenting the outfit, but black is a simple carefree choice.
