Does anyone own the Etincelle de cartier ring?

Hi!
Just my 5 cents as a big lover of designer jewelry except for eternity rings - only as a consideration. At $2,5k price tag you can get almost x2 carat weight (bigger diamond size or layered look) from a smaller brand if you’re into diamond eternity, or a unique design ring from a big brand.
These eternities from Tiffany and Cartier do look quite similar (I was considering them at a certain point), and honestly they do not look any different from similar styles in smaller brands (of course choice depends on where you’re from).
There are lots of discussions here if branded engagement rings are worth it - so for eternity rings this question is even more relevant, as the difference is impossible to tell.

Sorry for the late reply! The photos were kindly shared by mello_yello_jen : ) I don't know if you wanted to see the pink gold or platnuim. But here is my platnuim in 0.25ct, hope it helps! I live in Canada as well, they didn't carry my size in store so it was shipped from LA. To my surprise, it took less then a week to arrive!

Oh my gosh I just want to say your ring is STUNNING

Omg! You guys are making me want the ring! There is a jewelery shop here in Spain (100% reputable) that ocasionally sells pre loved Cartier and they currently have this ring at 50% off. Tempting!

Hello dears,
I am relatively new in Cartier and I am considering Alliance Etincelle ring in WG. I have 2 questions. Can you wear Cartier white gold ring in everyday life without any change in the color? I mean with soaps and hand gels added into our daily life, is it ok to wear white gold every day without worrying about it? my second question is.. the price changes with the ring size? especially with Etincelle, if I choose a much smaller ring, is it worth having it?

Hello,

I am not sure what the "Alliance" Etincelle ring is that you are referring to, but yes, you can wear it everyday. However, I would take off my rings to apply hand gels and lotions so it doesn't get stuck in between the diamond and setting. Having said that though, if you are able to purchase it in platinum, I would go for platinum instead.

After a certain size, Cartier does raise the dollar amount of the item. They do the same for the Destinee line when I purchased my ring. This is pretty much standard on all their items because it requires more material. I would not go for a smaller size due to pricing. Get the size that fits and personally, I wear my ring a bit bigger for comfort. I have my ring sized to slide easily over my knuckle, but it doesn't fall off.

Yes, you can wear white gold rings all the time. However, my friends with white gold wedding sets do note that the rhodium plating will wear off more quickly if you leave rings on all the time. Cartier is not an exception here. When the rhodium plating wears off, you will see the natural white gold color beneath. You can always get them replated for a fee.

Because of this, I also recommend getting it in platinum if you can afford it.

If you talk specifically about Cartier their WG items are not rhodium plated. Their WG is more grayish looking because of it. Only their diamond WG jewelry is rhodium plated.

I have this ring for a little more than 10 years now as my wedding ring and I love it :) However, it became very grey after 10 years of daily use, even though I try to avoid washing my hands with it and always take it off when cooking. Also, I don’t sleep with it. I have to say that the setting seems delicate, even for the 2mm (the one I have and I wouldn’t buy the pm 1.5 cm version). But so far so good: I use it daily and never had any issue with it.
I had started this thread specifically about the rhodium plating of my ring, hopefully it can help :)

After almost buying the VCA Perlee ring, I just don’t think it’s worth $7600. VCA is nice and feminine but the pricing is a bit high so I’m going to try my first Cartier.

Does anyone have pictures of this ring? I tried looking for videos online but could not find it. It appears that there are two versions. The one I am interested is

Here is the other one that costs the same. It actually has more Diamond weight. But I am more drawn to the first one.

The Cartier rings are quite expensive, too. Any branded jewelry costs much more than just the materials and labor. I wouldn't choose a Cartier ring you don't love just because it's $1,100 cheaper than a VCA ring I assume you do love (since price seems to be the only reason you didn't purchase it). I would guess that if you buy one of these Cartier rings, you're still going to wish you had the VCA. So I'd recommend saving up the extra money and just getting what you actually want :flowers:

I Love these rings! I love the second one as it has a bit of edge to it.
If you are talking about the VCA small perlee clover ring, I prefer these much more!
