I did call my store today to order the Legacy Slim Flap in white. When the Hippie comes in, I will just return it. The Slim Flap is perfect - just a bit smaller than the Ali, and doesn't have the long shoulder strap. Thanks rainbow 06 and mwisner for suggesting!

I like it a lot you cannot tell the difference except the flap and the strap is thinner and the strap also a big shorter than the Ali. Hope that helps your decision. The hippie bag is very long and the strap pulls on my neck and chest ..it is annoying to me..

it looks like the strap has a dogleash closure and can be completely detatched. i bet you could unclip the strap and loop it through the brass circle and clip in on the other side (to shorten the strap by 1/2). does that make sense? i wonder what it would look like if you did that.

that is a great idea! i was looking at the hippie and wondering how i could make the strap shorter...

You are most welcome and it is a great bag..much lighter in that style. I now find that they made a signature too, bummer...

i LOVE this bag but at 5'2 its just a little too long for me. i know its not a great pic, but it shows it across my body and how long it is. i just ordered the ali in white, i think i like it much better!

I just got it instead of the ali! I had my mind set on the ali but i ended up gettign the hippie bag.. i thought it would look horrendous on me (i'm 5'5" but it looks great!! falls on my hip lol

oh and you can take the strap off completely and replace it with another bag's strap (like a legacy shoulder tote) but you can't loop it.. i tried and it looks reallyyy weird
