Hi docride,
Just a little advice needed please.
I recently brought a pre-loved Jypsiere in Gold Fjord leather.
She's in mint condition and my first nearly new H bag (I brought a rouge H 28 Kelly in terrible condition over 20 years ago for £200 just because I've always wanted an H bag..I never use her because she's a really delicate old lady ..I may most a picture of her here one day just to show but I think the poor little angel is beyond renovating! she must have had a hard life before she met me!)
Anyway back to the point-Because I've never owned a natural coloured bag before or such an expensive (for me) bag How shall I care for her?
I understand Fijord is pretty low maintenance but any advice at all as to what I should use to condition her, if I need to condition her, how often etc would be gratefully received.
I brought her just before Lockdown here in London and god willing when we get through this I want to wear her out for the first time somewhere nice with my other half but I'm really nervous in case I get the tiniest spot of rain or something on her!
Thank you
Stay well
Maxine

Hello there,
Well its a very nice message you've shared thank you. Your old lady Kelly maybe you should see f she could use some TLC t help her? As for your "light colored Fjord bag, the main thing is to protect against color transfers, so you can make sue you have washed your jeans and other bleeding type fabrics ( let me see if I can find a link) so as to prevent color transfers to your light colored bag. Additionally you might want t to treat the bag against color transfers or have some emergency color transfer removing wipes on hand. Otherwise Fjord is very easy care and should not need any kind of major conditioning unless its old or kept in a dry hot conditions. Otherwise a gentle wipe down for cleanliness with very a gentle cleanse.if needed.

thank you so much!
I'll take some photos of my little old lady and post them here ..she's a heartbreaker but I love her like I'd love a 3 legged blind rescue dog!

Hello everyone,
I should have done this earlier, please forgive my tardiness. I just wanted to wish all my dear TPF friends best wishes during these stressful times! I personally have a feeling that we can make lemon aide out of lemons, and there is a silver lining in each cloud. We have a tremendous opportunity to unplug from the distractions and reconnect to our humanity and help each other . Even though many are house bound , we can can share a funny story or picture on social media, call and chat with our elders,or drop groceries and niceties on a door step or porch, maybe plant a garden or window box for someone? Come up with fun projects for children to stay busy at home and post them on social media ?
I encourage you to start spa-ing your bags in readiness for coming out into the light again when this is all over, maybe find some ways of showing whimsy in the meantime Maybe buy a rescue bag and post it here?
I will be checking posts twice a day until this lock down is over.. and will encourage you with your projects.
From my heart to yours, I wish you all the best!
your friend doc
Thank you for the great motivation! I currently have two box bags, I need to refer to your YouTube videos and get started on them.

Hey all !
I just wanted to wish all my TPF friends well wishes today! Lets see those Up-Keep Spas, project bags and rescues! Keep em coming folks ! I'll be checking back twice daily to message with you!

In the mean time lets feel hopeful as I believe we can see light at the end of the tunnel ! I'm so looking forward to seeing everyone celebrating in the not too distant future!

I hope that during our times of uncertainty we were able to make amends, build relationships and bridges between us where needed.
I hope through this, some of us clarified what is truly valuable.
Many have found a balance through introspection which may make us kinder, gentler and more understanding with ourselves and each other .
If even one of these things have indeed occurred then something profoundly good has come of these trials .

I'd love to see some bags getting polished and spa-ed in preparation for the upcoming celebrations (hopefully parties) I hope we'll be having!

Dearest Doc.
Here are pictures of my poor old girl. Weirdly enough I just checked the date stamp and she’s from 1983 considering she looked like this when I got her ( actually she looked worse I saddle soaped her and used a lot of leather food on her) lord only knows what happened to her. She never had the padlock or clochette
