Do you wish LV had a selection of "vegan" handbags?

And they will double down, because it sells and because it is luxury. And believe me, he is not "working on" anything, unless he meant even more leather products. Neither Vuitton nor Hermès took part in the (business wise) absolutely horrific virtue signalling. Only the bare minimum. Look at all the brands who did, they tanked... Burberry, hahaha
I really don't get these people. They have 0 empathy towards culture, heritage, business, economy, people and most importantly the animals themselves. And literally 0 argument reaches their ears. Cult like, destructive, absolutely inhumane.
I just hope the conversation can truly begin.
Consumers assume leather products are of quality and higher costs to produce but little do they know they cost very slightly higher than canvas in production but sold at a much higher markup.

We cannot deny that leather is a primitive material which can lasts decades and in the long term better for the environment but it costed a life that one will never know from their birth to end is based on profits and torture.

Leather does not relate to luxury for me but for the masses, it is the epitome of luxury.
When Hermes offers a velvet Birkin or Kelly, I will then consider starting my Hermes journey.

GUCCI launched their first and only vegan bag, the reception was small and thus no expansion of new styles as of yet.

As I mentioned in my earlier posts in this thread, a leather bag costs the life of a single cow, while a plastic bag can cripple and/or end the lives of thousands (if not many more) living organisms until, after 100,000 years, they end up buried under kilometers of stone in the depths of a mountain. Plastics never rot or disintegrate like natural materials. Over time, they simply break down into smaller and smaller pieces (microplastics, anyone?).

'Plastic vegan' advocates can choose between these two: a single cow or an island’s worth of life? I never get an answer.

The plant-based idea is lovely, but let's check on that Horsebit bag in 10 years—it will likely fall apart miserably. Death is a part of nature, always has been, always will be. Western people can dream of a painless utopia all they want, but that vision is idealistic, unrealistic, and deeply irresponsible.

Sorry if I am a little too passionate, but I deeply care about this topic.

@BULL

Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and opinions, your point is heard but that don't change my way of action just like yours.

Conversations like these benefit all and raise awareness be it you're supporting either side.
There are people around us who could care less for animal cruelty or the environment.
Life goes on but still I am hopeful that Pharrell comes out with a vegan bag for LV and I'm definitely supporting it with a purchase.

I was wondering, maybe an all metal bag would be both fun and vegan. Whenever they do plain cotton canvas or rafia, not having leather accents or at least a label tag is against the House codes. But with metal they usually just engrave.

I love leather. I also adore toile and felt, and I find them very hard wearing. I’m trying to reduce my consumption of micro plastic, so I would prefer not to buy new pleather.
