Do you wear your birkin more when casually dressed or dressed up?

oh yes! Birkin/kelly/or any handbag in a formal event is soooooo gross
I know this is a super old thread but I was looking for commentary on wearing Birkins to formal events and I always thought it looked SO out of place and makes it obvious that wearer isn’t really in tune with style but just wants to show off. Just because something is expensive, doesn’t make it formal. I noticed Picotins making their rounds at weddings and galas and I think it’s way too casual of a bag for events like that.

To the theme of the thread, the wife uses them as a briefcase for work or to go shopping since they’re easy totes to use. Totes aren’t formal bags. Could you get away with a B25? Sure I guess. A clutch or small closed bag would be more formal IMO

Kind of like a certain ludicrously capacious handbag that had the world laughing/cringing earlier this year.

If the mini Birkin remains a thing, that could easily be a formal bag, but yeah, a regular Birkin is basically a bougie tote.
