Do you travel w/ your Speedy? I'm afraid it'll get stolen or something..r/o

not psyco at all....when I stay overnight in atlantic city...I am not about to carry an expensive bag around. I like going into the casino late at night and I see alot of shady people around and Im very observant and I do see how some people "scope" you out. Its not worth it. So yes, sometimes for safety sake its better to not draw attention to yourself. I would never leave an expensive bag in the hotel room either.

Is this a Philadelphia thing? I am the same way. I don't leave the really expensive stuff lying around unsupervised or carry it in places I think "shady" people might take note of what you have. If you are going to a nice hotel and your travel plans are in safe places, I would say okay. I have just heard too many tales of purse snatching, muggings, etc.
Another deciding factor is if I am alone or in a group. I have no problem if my DH is around, since he is not a small guy.

I would. I tend not to use my Speedy at places I know aren't too safe.

The Speedy is an excellent bag to travel with IMO. It is spacious and very durable. I've even taken it on skiiing trips.

I think it depends on where you travel to ... but in general LV is not really an attention grabber unless you are using the large trunks while traveling.

I travel with 5 or 6 bags and I've never had anything go missing, nor have I had anyone attempt anything. I also walk around New York with some pretty eye-catching stuff (fuchsia bedford, spring street, etc) and I have never drawn any unwanted attention. I think you're especially safe with a Speedy; it's very lowkey.

I have traveled with my Manhattan, Alma, cerise speedy, perf Speedy, Mizi, Gucci Boston bag, denim Speedy, Messanger bag (as a lap top bag) MC speedy, etc...etc....I never worry. If I buy something you can bet Im going to use it!! Carry it! Enjoy it!!!!

Assume the snatcher would be a man, do they really know the difference? A few years ago I myself couldn't tell you what an LV was. All the men I meet don't even know the significance of LV or any purse for that matter. I think if someone is going to snatch a purse, they would snatch any purse. Besides sadly or fortunately in this case with all the fakes people are carrying, hopefully you don't get singled out.

I travel with my speedy! i its the perfect bag to put all the stuff you need!... When I usually go on vacation I bring a non expensive bag,and a expensive bag...When I go sight seeing I use one of those gym nike bags...But when I go shopping when I go out to eat I bring out the good bags =D...When the bags are in the hotel room alone, I hide them in my luggage..

Yes, I agree with this completely. I travel with my Speedy and on the occassions that I have felt uneasy whilst carrying it, (on the underground or tram) I think I would have felt uneasy carrying any purse.

I never worry about my luggage being stolen - I never stay in...truly 'dingy' hotels..but I always make sure I don't leave things like wallets, passports etc laying around. I lock that stuff up.

And travelling with LV - I travel with a Keepall all the time and have never worried about anything going missing..infact, I throw the bag around....I def. don't baby it when I travel.

I know what you mean. I just got my 30 when we were going to DC and I contemplated if I should have taken it or not. I ended up taking it. Trust me the Speedy is nothing compared to the other bags out there! And with all the fakes out, the theif has to be good.

I am glad I took mine. It actually was really spacious to hold my water, and apple, and all my tickets, etc...

Don't worry about it. Someone will be carrying a better more expensive bag. Just don't be pulling out diamonds and your cash roll out of it and I don't think anyone will even notice it honestly.

but you'll be happy you have it on the days and nights you go out and see all the other girls with theirs!

I am wondering the same thing. I am going on a cruise in July and would like a nice tote for site-seeing. I was thinking about a Ralph Lauren canvas tote, because it seems like the safe choice, but I would like to carry my Mezzo as well. I will have my Twin GM to carry on the ship.
I am going to Mexico. Grand Cayman, and Montego Bay.
I did see someone with a Noe, but that was in Grand Cayman.
Should I stick to the RL tote or a tote from LL Bean?
