I just sold a few to a local consignment shop today. Thinking I might use some of that money towards something else before the sales over

That's so interesting. What changed your mind in a month? I notice seasons make me give a color a second look. I gave away a beautiful bag that I LOVED the buttery leather and color of. After using it for a few days, I knew it didn't work for me. I'd gotten it for around $30 second hand. So it wasn't painful to give it away so fast. It was huge and completely puddled, and I hated using it because everything got lost inside. Now I wonder if I could have made it work with a bag organizer to give it some shape, but I know the only reason I'd even consider trying is because the leather and color were amazing and one of a kind.Well, I sold my Melon Tea Rose. It was repaired by coach and new with Tags. And you know what, I so regretted after a month.
But, the good news is I found it on Tradsey for less than I sold it for on eBay and the difference covered the eBay and Paypal fees. So happy. Alls well that ends well
And the lesson is don't go crazy selling bags.![]()
True!! I haven't regretted any that I've sold thus far... except maybe one of my "vintage" bags (vintage is relative... I got it as a gift in 2000 or 2001). But then I did the same as you, re-purchased a similar but older one (a few years later). But I feel like it was a bit of an upgrade because it was made in the USA and had different hardware... my original was made in Costa Rica or somewhereWell, I sold my Melon Tea Rose. When I decide to get rid of a bag, I take it out of the closet and move it to another room where I put stuff I'm getting rid of. I leave it there for a while and if I never miss it, then I sell it.Well, I sold my Melon Tea Rose. It was repaired by coach and new with Tags. And you know what, I so regretted after a month.

Oh what a great idea! I like to get things out in a hurry asap, but this is a fantastic idea when you need to confirm it's time to let something go.When I decide to get rid of a bag, I take it out of the closet and move it to another room where I put stuff I'm getting rid of. It sounds like you made a great choice both times. It's great it ended up such a happy outcome.I went back and forth on the bag. I used it for a while and then it lost a flower. I sent it into Coach for repair and they sent me a new one. And I never took the tags off, so I had used it for a while.
I was selling off bags and I was in between jobs and worried about my taxes. So, I thought the bag was too much and I did not need it. Taxes came in much, much less than I thought. And I got some consulting.
And kept on thinking about the bag. I love the tea roses and I like the 31 not the 25 and there have not been a lot of 31's.
Thanks! I like to hurry up and get rid of stuff fast too, but this was my way of making sure I wouldn't have seller's remorse. Some bags I knew there wouldn't be any remorse, so those went immediately, but most went in the pile first.Oh what a great idea! Hi all,
Well, I just went through a period where I sold off about half my bags. These are all bags I did not use anymore and they were beautiful bags. Rogues, Carolines, Flagship, etc. I just felt like I had too many and I wanted to buy some new bags. I had about 20 bags and now, I have about 10.
What amazed me is by the end, I thought it was such a good thing to clean out my closet and get the money back for all of these bags - I never pay retail for bags, so this was more rent a bag. And the approach was out with the old, and in with the new.
Everything I have left are bags I looooove so much and I use. I would feel so bad to be buying new bags if I did not sell the old ones off. I just sold the Suede fringe Rouge and I'm going to get the beautiful Ivy Rouge during the sale.
Anyone else do this? I'm pretty happy to see a lot less bags in my closet.
I’m also with @whateve - my purchases are independent of my selling. However, new additions often create the opportunity for me to reassess and rehome other bags, that particularly overlap with the new bag in function and/or colour.I don't sell in order to buy another bag. That doesn't really work because the money I get from a sale isn't enough to buy anything new. I would have to sell about 5 things in order to have enough to buy one new bag, and eventually this wouldn't work, as I would run out of bags. I sell if I don't think I'm carrying a bag enough and I don't think I'll miss it if it is gone. I buy a bag if I feel like getting one. My purchases are independent of my selling.
