Oh, yes, come to Reasonable Insanity. I am a moderator there and it is SO much fun! And super inspiring. There are NO stupid questions there. We have all levels from beginners to advanced to super star. :)

And there are lots of free tutorials out there, but I prefer taking classes. If you have a local community college they may offer classes or a local bead store. I'm a very hands on learner so I prefer to see someone and then do it myself in class. :)

Just be careful...it's ADDICTING!!!

Is this bracelet for sale?

To all the ladies that posed pics. All of the jewelry is beautiful.

Makes the few pieces that I have made look like kid jewelry, ha! ha!

I have so many beads that I have collected but I haven't done anything with them. :shrugs:

I make and sell jewelry through my online boutique. Some examples:

another pair of earrings (I like the asymmetrical look)

another pair of asymmetrical earrings, and I didn't realize the picture would be so big.

Stop! Everyone starts somewhere when they make things. I would love you to post your work!

Caxe! I love those earrings in the second photo. So pretty!!! Do you sell on Etsy?

I like Asymmetry too...but I have to be in the right mood. :)

WOW! Such talent and beautiful things from everyone! I have collected so many beads, findings, etc.etc that I have no clue what to do with. Now I am really inspired to figure something out for it all. Thanks for all of the pictures!

I tweak. For instance if a pair of earrings has a hook and is a little long, I will take the hook off and hang it on a post.

Or if I have an orphan earring, or a charm from an old bracelet that I like, I will string it on a chain and give it a new job as a pendant.

Or if I can make it work, I might take a bracelet and hook the ends onto a chain and make it into a necklace. Or take a really long necklace and wrap it around a bunch of times so it can be a bracelet.

And sometimes I take a bunch of chains, hook them all together, end to end, and make a really long necklace that wraps to several strands, but looks different than if I had just layered the necklaces normally.

If you don't have one, get yourself one or two of those magnetic clasp things with rings that let you hook several necklaces in, but once that is done, putting it on and taking it off is really easy. My problem is, I keep changing what is hooked in there around, and wear the same combination twice so seldom that I don't really get the full benefit, but I like them so much, I think all necklaces and bracelets should fasten this way.

I realize that opinion is strongly influenced by the fact that it is really hard for me to see the little lobster clasps and ring things! :)

Ladies, thanks for sharing your lovely work. I'm an absolute klutz so the thought of making jewelry is furthest from my mind. But being new to admiring jewelry, may I say, not for the first time:

Jewelry designers on Etsy rock! :smile1:

As do indie jewelry designers!

Thanks for the positive feedback, guys.

I have an etsy store, and I also have a separate online store. However, neither store has any stock right now as my "day job" keeps me so busy that I barely have time to make any jewelry, let alone update my websites. I do a little at a time and I'm thinking about doing a re-launch in July. I still make pieces, but only to wear myself.

The other ladies who have posted pics of their jewelry also have some amazing-looking pieces; I'm totally envious!

:p
