For me it was trail and error which style I like best. I had the urban spirit mini, the business affinity backpack, I tried the duma. I didn’t like the duma new mini. My favorite one is an odd ball and not for all. But it’s the perfect size for me, and it actually dresses up and elevates my outfits. I’m a jeans and T-shirt kind of girl. This one is the metallic bubble backpack from ss 2018. Bought used, never used. It’s my favorite out of all of them.

This style is awesome!! I love it! I agree recent models are too fussy.

I also opted for a pre-owned style;

I only use backpacks when I’m traveling, though so I chose non-leather to save weight.

My taste shouldn't really come into it, we're all so different. I personally prefer leather straps and handles on bags, especially on larger bags. Chains freak me out a bit.

I'm not really a backpack person either, I only have 2 other backpacks, a Burberry that I use for the gym and dance classes (heavy things) and a army surplus camouflage bag I literally go hiking with. The biggest difference, the other 2 a real backpacks, the Chanel is just a really cool looking bag that looks like a backpack (for me).

Try to think of it less as a backpack and more as a good-looking casual-but-cool piece and you get the idea. I can't tell you how many people rave about it when I wear it so it must look good to others.

I prefer the backpack to the Trendy, 19, Puffy, 22, Mini and plenty of other, and I suppose it stopped me from buying a Gabrielle (which I quite liked).

If I was you, I would go to Chanel and try it (or again if you already have done)

Thanks for putting that into perspective! I was able to visit Chanel this weekend and was able to try on the backpacks from the current season and was quite pleased by the larger of the two sizes (the small was way too mini to be practical, it looked dinky to me even on my 5'1 frame). Everything you said about it being a bag that happens to look like a bag rang true. And much like you, I preferred the look and the feel of the backpack over pretty much every bag they had in the store.

Going into the store also shifted my feelings about going preloved - leaning towards getting it in store now if I were to snag it.

Hey y’all! I‘ve never found myself too interested in Chanel for several reasons but lately have been fixated on the look and idea of a Chanel backpack.

I don’t see too many posts on here regarding backpacks and would like to hear your thoughts on them. Do you own one? What style? Did you purchase vintage and/or pre-loved? Pros, cons, etc. I’m particularly interested in the Duma and Business Affinity style backpacks but am open to hearing about Chanel backpacks in general. Please share your experience and opinions, would love to hear them!

I had a small Gucci black print backpack in my 20s. I loved it so much and got many compliments wearing it. Then I gave it to my cousin when I went off to the corporate world.

Check out Margot Robbie's Chanel backpack. Mine looked very similar to it, brings back so many good memories. I wish I were younger, then I would definitely get a Chanel backpack. I'm in my 40s now, so it's a bit tricky fashion-wise.

This exact video pushed a Chanel backpack way higher up my wishlist, though I’m still waiting for the perfect style and secretly hoping the one she has gets re-released at some point. I love the size (dunno what specifically it is though) and slouchier look of hers, but I don’t know how often a style like that gets released - I’m not as familiar with the seasonal backpack variations. They look so chic!

i have the business affiity one. I chose this one over the Duma because it's not trendy, it's elegant and timeless. I find that the Duma backpack is too trendy and way too busy.

I tend to rotate through my bags, but whenever I use the Gabrielle I find myself using it for weeks at a time! I’ve taken it travelling, to work, out to dinner, and of course just casually. Easy to dress up or down and surprisingly fits a lot!

I see this gabrielle back pack lot lately. Last weekend and 2 wks before that. I preferred the urban chanel backpack over this garbrielle-I like my backpack with a flap.
