Yes, I would repeat colours as well. Since I have a BBK32 a black B would not be my first priority, but given enough disposable funds I'd get it if I'm offered one from the store. Also true in the reverse if I had a black B and was offered a black K.

Hi all,

What do those of you who own the same color/hardware combo in these two different styles think? Do you find them terribly similar? Do you wind up reaching for one over the other? Do you feel like you pretty much have two of the same bag? I have a black 35 Birkin with gold hardware & have always wanted a vintage Black box Kelly with gold hardware. The sizes would be slightly different perhaps but I wonder if it’s a redundant purchase. Would love to hear from others who have such similar bags in their collections. Thank you!

I wouldn't hesitate : you'll never have too many black bags and you won't get "tired" of the color.

I think size and leather difference will be suffient to justify repeating the same combo , even in a smaller collection, especially in black. As you wont use B35 in a more dressy occation, where you can use K28.

Unless you live in somewhere hot all year round and dont use black all that much, then its a different story.

Nope, B is daytime, K is nighttime.

For one, Blue is my favorite color. And I love each one of my blue purses. I tend to wear blacks, blues and greys. I know I shouldn’t be surprised because I purchased them, I just got taken aback when I took them all out at the same time. :biggrin: I had been trying to get other colors but always end up with the blues and blacks.

Well I took the plunge and chose a 32 black box kelly with gold hardware despite having a 35 Black Clemence Birkin with gold hardware. They are similar but not the same of course. The only reason I’m justifying this is because every time I buy a bag in a color, I wind up getting sick of it, aside from a dark red Chanel jumbo I have and a vintage alligator Chanel bag that’s a gorgeous dark brown hue. Everything else is black. But I also wear tons of black. I don’t mind being a vampire. Anyone out there happy with their black collection??
