OMG, I was thinking the same thing just yesterday. How can a reseller justify asking $18K for a non-exotic skin birkin?? Its quite common on ebay right now. That's just silly..

I think everyone on this forum is quite familiar with the notion of a free market and demand setting the price. But, somethings border on the absurd, even to those who believe in and participate in a free market economy. Particularly, when one can walk into the actual retailer and purchase the item for half the price with relatively minimal complication or delay.

Here is something that has me puzzled. You know how most resellers sale their new items at higher prices than retail? We all understand that and it is because it gives buyers direct access to H items without having to wait for them in a waiting list, or go and find them in farflung boutiques.

But, what I don't get is when the reseller's premium is 50% and more. What justifies this??? Especially for items which are readily available and are not too difficult to find in H shops.

I found the other day a Birkin which was priced at a 100% premium to the price in a H shop.

Do you guys understand this?

So off topic, but Little h how are you? Is your mom enjoying the Kelly?:yahoo:

Sellers will charge what the market will allow. If there is a scarcity of a particular thing then the price is more. The prices have come down on preowned items simply because they had to. No one was paying the too high mark-ups. They don't want to pay for new things either so the merch is just sitting there.
