I like makeup alley for reviews but I guess TPF has me spoiled for message boards. Makeup alley has pages and pages just running on in a big list. On the few occasions when I posted a question, after a short while my question is several pages down with maybe one person commenting.
Anyone here spend time on that board? Maybe it's cliquey as I notice some people's threads get a lot of responses.

I know exactly what you mean! I have been registered there since 2002 and things have changed so much! Cliquish, definitely yes, more so in the past 2 years. Like you said it moves so fast that its impossible to get an answer sometimes. I wish there were stickies to discuss topics, b/c at the current pace it is more like a chat room.

I find a lot of the fawning on the boards kind of sickening.

I post occasionally; I review a decent amount but I'm kind of grossed out at the idea of swapping so I skip that.

I used to hang out on MUA. It's a nice place to chat makeup and beauty :)

I learned a lot of application tips while there, and also got introduced to a lot of products I wouldn't have picked up myself.

I have been on MUA since 1999 but have not used the site for the past few years. It was great website when it first began but changed so much in recent years and not for the good imo. It is a great place to read reviews though.

Like everyone else said, I only go for the reviews. I've tried to join in on the forums but find it hard to get into. There's a lot of inside jokes and such between the members so I never really knew what to say.
