Do you ever feel like your bags aren't 'good enough' to post about or reveal?

I stopped posting my bags after a negative response in one of the threads. It took me a while to come back. I actually forgot my user name and password! I love my MK handbags, but they get such a visceral response at times. Now, I just respond to threads. I like to enjoy my bags. While I could care less about what a stranger says about me or my bags, I come here to have fun. When it's not fun anymore, I jet.

Sorry.
It does hurt.
I was targeted in mulberry forum. By couple specific members.
So stopped posting there entirely.
Yes. When the fun stops, best to seek other fun.
Enjoy your bags, your way.

I couldn't agree more, lenarmc. As for negative responses, there are many premier designer bags I've seen posted that do absolutely nothing for me. But I ascribe to the old saying, "if you don't have anything good to say, don't say it."

Ugh, I am sorry. MK raises an unusual level of negative opinions here and preconceived bias alleging he "copies", yet you don't see people harping on LV (which I also love) for copying his Jet Set Tote with their Totally, or even their new Iena which seems awfully similar to one of Coach's tote bags, or on any of the premier designers for how much they copy or are "inspired by" . A lot of times I see allegations MK "copied" some bag and sometimes it is like um, no, MK actually had that design first....but is like talking to a brick wall. It comes across as rather snobby and elitist that MK gets so singled out. I have owned MK and think MK makes some great bags, and I actually would love one of the Mercer totes in Olive! I looked at it in Nordstrom a few weeks ago and it was gorgeous!

i'm ok with seeing older bags in the 'what handbag are you wearing thread' and appropriate vintage threads. if they're old and meaningful it's nice to know the style name and brand, too. sometimes i've seen bags i like and the post is just a photo and never mentions the brand or style, and i like reading that. i also like a line or two saying why someone loves their bag, like is it the color/clasp/weight, etc? why do you still wear it kind of thing. most of the bags i actually like on here end up in 'what are you wearing' more than the lux threads anyway

This is a place to share your love of bags regardless of what it is. Whatever your reasons are for having your bags, it makes you happy. It's ok to share that happiness. There's not too many places or people that you can do that with. For me, this is the only place to share this passion. I have bags that are not exactly popular choices but I love them and still post...lol  I even posted a bag I made myself. I'm so proud of it

I appreciate and find it interesting to see different bags, brands, style, history, what's in people's purses , etc. There will be some undesirable posts which should not discourage you. Just have fun and keep sharing! It's all good! ;)

This is really a good question/thread. Thanks for posting @Shelby33:flowers:

IMHO I don't feel that my bags aren't good enough to post or to reveal. I don't have many bags in my possesion and don't have a plan to get a new one in the near future. I buy a bag every couple of years and it's not easy because I often think as to what I use the bag for. I have a couple of bags that I didn't use, they're inexpensive, never felt sorry I bought them but as time goes by, my taste and the functionality of the bag changes.

What bothers me is someones attitude when carrying and talking about a bag. Own experience when I was on a vacay, there's this woman carrying a certain brand, not the most expensive from that brand (I can tell that lol I'm here on the tPF :p) and she was toting her bag proudly and in a snobbish way. She was so arrogant or maybe I just find it that way but it was obvious.

If your bag is good enough for you and happy about it, then it's good enough to do everything...posting, revealing. Do it! Be proud of it, it's yours!

Wow, I don't know why people can be such jerks. Well I do know why actually. Not people I want around me! I don't know why people have a problem with MK either. I like a lot of his bags and would buy one if I could afford one. I would love to see your bags!

Undesirable posts say quite a bit about the poster and nothing about your bag.. :)

There will always be snobby ones who scoff at non-designer bags but they are hopefully far and few between. I think they probably need the cachet of a big expensive brand to hide their insecurities from experienced eyes ;)

I always admire people who look 100% stylish and they are in inexpensive brands. NOW THAT is hard to do!

So please share all your beloved bags. This is a bag forum and an extremely large one so you will find fellow lovers of your favourite brands.

As much as I love my Hermes, I do love my few (because they are carefully chosen)no-brand bags too. In fact my most recent private jet flight I carried my no-name backpack and not Hermes.

Yes, that's very true. Some people get a kick out of being snarky, boastful and mean on the Internet (and its easy on an anonymous forum ) I think they must have empty, unhappy little lives.

It would be an interesting experiment to remove all the branding from a selection of bags and see which one people would choose if they didn't know what it was, or how much it cost. I wonder if its been done?

Post about your bags! Don't be put off. I often see bags I don't recognise and feel like stopping someone and asking where they found it - this is a place where we can do that without being thought really strange!
And just to add, I think about half my bags were bought preloved and half new. Most of us love to see vintage and well loved / well cared for bags

I remember visiting a Prada boutique in a mall.
The SA saw the bag I was wearing, found it lovely and asked me what brand it was, probably expecting it to be an expensive one.
I told him it was from a French brand lots of people have never heard of and whose prices have nothing to do with Prada..;)

We all love bags here, Shelby, whether high end or not.
We enjoy looking at ALL reveals,
Some ladies post pics of bags we have not heard about and I can tell you that lots of us rush to the brand website to know more about them.
TPF is fun.
Post pics of your cherished bags!:heart:
That is what I do! It's nice to come across a brand you have not heard of, because yay! It's like treasure hunting.
Personally, I don't post many reveals/sharing because I find it troublesome (I can't even post regularly in tpf, let alone trying to make the effort to post a reveal :sweatdrop: ) So basically I'm saying I'm a very lazy person.
It is ok to share your love for bags, so please go ahead. This is TPF after all.
