I like touches of hardware, just enough to give the bag personality and make it stand out, but not so much that you need to be able to benchpress your own weight to carry it!! Last fall I ordered the most MAGNIFICENT Maxx New York bag. It was loaded with very nice, well made, sturdy studs and metal detailing. I totally adored it.....until I picked it up! The bag literally weighed more empty than my bag did with all my things in it. It broke my heart, but I sent it back. I have so many problems with my back/shoulders/neck anyway. The last thing I need is a 20 pound sack hanging off my shoulder.
I love the Hobo Stam for all these reasons: just enough to give it personality, but not enough to be heavy.
