I would give them the benefit of the doubt. Like Sprinkles pointed out, some may only work a few times a week. They may not be as passionate as we are about the bags (or spend as much time on the PF)
I remember working at a video store in college and people were always asking me questions about the movies and I didn't know much about them because I was in college and working!

Oh and I do the same thing when I go to any store with info on new stuff, I say "my friend has it" or sometimes I just say I read about it online.

Unfortunately I called Coach CS today and asked about the medium cotton sig carly dimensions (I already ordered but just assumed it was the same as the other Carlys :push:) They told me the medium size is 10L x 9 1/4 H x 4 1/8 W. Sorry, but while I do think the bag is CUTE, I think that $368 is a lot for a bag that small...so it will be going back :sad:

you have my sympathy! however, i think some SAs shouldn't be faulted cos they really have no idea what's going on! they can't help it if the management keeps them in the dark?

maybe we should get all SAs to join tpf! (; that would imporve their service (from all our complaints threads), knowledge all at once!

I went to my local coach store today to inquire about the chocolate sig. carly. They had pics in their book and the SA new right away what I was talking about when I asked. The pic in their binder only showed the large and demi carly, I think the legacy slim flap and maybe one or two others. It did not show the medium, but I believe that she said that they were making it. The pouch was not listed and but she looked it up and unfortunately the pouch only comes in the cream and green. I really wanted it in the chocolate. She said that they may possibly make be making it and it might not be in the system yet. I ordered the carly pouch in brass/khaki/chambray instead. Maybe if they have the chocolate pouch later this summer I will get it, but the demi was really cute in the chocolate!!!

My SA knew exactly what I was talking about...she had all the info about upcoming lines in a binder that she pulled out from behind the counter for me

Next time, be firm and ask for a manager.

yea i knew a bit more than SAs at my local coach...and when i say a bit more, i mean the NAME of some bags (ie. Legacy Shoulder Tote...wtf every SA should know that bag!)....sometimes I just go straigt to the manager and forget asking an SA because Sprinkles is right, some only work a few hours a week and if they arent on tPF then they wont know anything (like one who saw my watercolor ponytail scarf and was like omg when did you get that...she didnt even know that they carried them!)

Yeah that's what they told me too. That's why I ordered the large. If it was the size of the other Carlys I wouldn't have gotten them in large, as it's WAY too big. But the lady on the phone saidthe large was abouuut 12.5 wide. Are you sure they're the same size, Sprinkles? :confused1:

I had a similar experience concerning the patent ergo. I went into my local boutique (which I visited during the PCE and I wrote about the crummy service that I received there). Well, I went in and was annoyed to see the icky manager working there. But I decided to ask her about the patent anyway. And she kept arguing with me about it and making me feel dumb like I had made it up. Kept telling me that it only comes in leather, signature and that it will come out in patchwork. I had something about seeing it in the Macy's flyer. And she just kept being bratty about it. And I understand that some boutiques/SA's might not be as knowledgeable as others or be given the information as fast as others. But don't be a jerk about it. And this chick is the manager. Seriously.
