No Kate Spade or Coach for sale in Europe, so neither suggests much to me. However, after having visited the States and checked their web site, I would not describe a Kate Spade "type" as sophisticated (the bags colors are too gaudy and the shapes too square) and Coach looks OK as an everyday bag for everybody (not much of a personality definer there, I would say...).

I happened to like a D&G bag and I am definitely not "edgy", so in my opinion there is no such thing as a "brand name" type, just ladies buying different brands... which is fine by me.

I own Coach, Kate Spade, MJ, LV, and Now Mulberry. I think I'm all over the board...my higher end bags are more traditional but I'm not traditional all the time.

Okay, after talking with my friend again...I got her opinion of Coach out of her. I'm trying to figure out a nice way to say this...but she thinks of people that carry Coach (especially the ones with the logo all over them) as "high income wannabees" and actually used the word "trailer park".

Now again...I carry Coach bags and I like them, although the one I'm carrying now is the first one that actually has the logo on the outside. I'm totally opposite the description she gave (I have an MBA and did very well until I stopped working a few years ago, and my husband is a partner in a law firm) but she really made me wonder if I should be carrying another type of purse!

:wtf: That is ridiculous. I'd probably try to teach my friend some class, if she said that.

I think how someone carries a bag (and themselves) says much more than the brand of the bag ;)

I own and love way too many brands to be categorized, IMO . . .

I kind of agree. When I see someone carrying say LV, I think one thing. When I see a Coach, I think of this person differently. Not bad or good...just differently. Both brands have styles I really like.

I tend to stereotype a lot and not sure why :) D&G, Balenciaga - young and hip, Chanel & Hermes - old lady, LV speedy - borrrrrring, haha, and so on. Not that I am proud of stereotyping but I tend to categorize a lot with bag brands and even styles within individual brand.

So...how do you think of them? Sorry if I'm harping on this, but now I really want to know what someone might think of me walking down the street with my bag. I know I shouldn't care but I do.

ouch!

I guess I am a bag slut siince I lile so many different ones. I am all for eclectic.
