Do people who buy high end brands like Chanel ever wear lower end brands as well?

I´m not brand loyal - whyever should I be? I don´t "owe" loyalty to any brand (although I admit I´m decidedly partial to organic materials/faitrade in clothing, and go for such brands; alas, most purse makers are missing from this niche sector).

No one single brand carries ALL the models I like for a price I deem fair. Liebeskind and Le Tanneur come the closest for me in terms of top quality, functionality, durability and price point, but not even they will ever come up with unique pieces such as the Paraty (Chloè), Trevi (LV), or Bayswater tooled (Mulberry).

[emoji122]🏻[emoji122]🏻[emoji122]🏻 +1. SO TRUE!

Exactly what I always said to my friends. No matter how expensive or exclusive a brand is....they can't cover all design that I want!

I have chanel, Hermes and other premier brand and still buy cheap bags for certain occasions and certain places. I totally agree with ~ variety is the spice of life ~

Another reason I buy contemporary or cheaper brand is because I get bored with my bags very fast. And I need so much colors, sizes, design to cater to my ever changing style. So I can't afford 50 Hermes/Chanel to cover all my needs, lol.

* Hermes/Chanel can't give me edgy vibes like Balenciaga or bohemian vibes that I get from other designs.

I buy what I like. One time might be Chanel, Burberry or LV, next time could be Coach, Betsy Johnson, random purse at a Kiosk. While I do have my favorite brands I am not tied to that brand. It is whatever strikes me at the time and also what is practical for what I am doing.

I do. I have about 10 premier designer bags (Chanel, LV, Hermes, Celine, Givenchy, etc.) but about 60 bags in total. Why?

1) I wear a lot of dark denim and have had enough issues with color transfer that I'd never dream of getting a high-end bag in a light color.

2) I have a lot of trendy or unusual bags that I can't wear often, so the cost per wear isn't justifiable above a certain price point.

3) I work for a company with a financially conservative culture, so I try to limit the high-end bags in the office so as to not be too "showy."

4) I want to be able to carry something in travel, bad weather, concerts, etc. without worrying about my bag.

5) I like what I like. The bags I get the most compliments on are a Big Buddha, a F21 and an Anthropologie (Pilcro) bag because they're all just really unusual. The F21 and Big Buddha bags are starting to get a little battered, and I've been looking for more high-end replacements for YEARS but just haven't found anything I like as much.

Chanel isn't appropriate for all occasions. Currently my collection includes high end brands (Chanel, Hermes, Chloe) and mid-priced end brands (coach, Kate spade, Longchamp, Mansur Gabriel). I pick the bag that goes with my outfit and fits the occasion. This past weekend my husband and I went to Niagara Falls, Canada. I wore a no brand crossbody that my sister got for me from Italy 5 years ago. We went on a boat to the falls, and got soaked. I definitely wouldn't want to carry my nicer handbag so it can get wet/damage. It's also nice to wear a bag and not have to worry about scratches or rubbing or water stains.

Yes. I have Hermes, Chanel, LV etc. but still treasure the Coach and Longchamp I carried in my student days and the MK that DH got me for Valentine's Day (which he picked out all by himself and surprised me with) most of all.

Quoting myself to add a #6:

Color. Sometimes I get an itch for a bag in a certain color, and when I find the shade I want in the style I want, I'm getting it. I don't care if it's Coach or Target or LV.

Think Betsey Johnson, Coach, MK, Guess, etc. I'm a big fan of Betsey Johnson bags (even though they are a hit or a miss, I'll admit a lot are tacky), so I don't think I'll ever stop buying those, especially when I see a nice discount. There's just something about her style that is so uniquely cute, no one else has that. Am I the only one?

Nope! Variety is the spice of life. I wear what I like regardless of the brand.

It varies depending on my mood, what I am doing that day, the outfit, my mood. I own 5+ Chanel's, Several LV's, Prada, YSL's, and other sand still wear my Longchamp tote and maybe even some of my other no brands. Don't own MK, do not like that he knocks off the work of others.

I am very brand loyal, but have my premiere brand, Gucci, and my contemporary brand, Dooney & Bourke. for me, it don't feel right to buy any other brand...mostly because other brands make few to no things I like. I was drawn to those particular brands in the first place for a reason. but buy what u like! u r ăfter all the one who has to carry it.
People value different things, so it is an individual question. I mainly buy from the same brands because those brands' styles speak to me, which included premier and contemporary. Those brands fit my life in different ways and may mean different things to me. I buy them because there is something about that bag I love.

I happen to buy both premier and contemporary brands. I judge bags by the materials they are constructed of and the craftsmanship. I happen to love Michael Kors bags, which have both high end and mid range prices. I have the Sedona which cost me over $1,100 and then I have the Mercer which was only $328. IMO, what should matter most is the quality of the bag and if it caters to your style and needs. I personally cannot stand it when women carry a bag simply so they can throw the name around.
