Do most people around you carry fake bags?

Two friends and one relative exclusively carry fakes . Yes, we have already came to blows about it and had to "agree to disagree". I see lots of fakes in public, but I also see lots of authentic bags too.

No, most of my friends carry "no-brand" bags, or maybe have one designer bag. I have one really good friend who has autentich Mulberry, LV ect, and just got a fake Gucci (she knows its fake, from Thailand), she try to convince me its real, but it's not even a good fake. She always picks at my for my LV obbsession, so I don't feel for starting a "fight" so I don't say anything...

Yes my mum bought a fake Louis Vuitton from Egypt because she wanted something to use on the plane going back. She isnt into bags at all and doesnt really care that its a fake Louis Vuitton, she just sees it as a bag that holds her stuff when she travels from a-b. Thankfully she doesnt use it publicly but iv told her to get rid of it and either buy a real one (not gonna happen she thinks spending that amount of money is silly, she prefers music and cars) or just buy a nice bag which she can use instead of that awful thing! I managed to give it a kick this morning, obviously if it was a nice pretty bag I wouldnt abuse it but its a cheap scratty thing which only cos her £15!!!

Hmm this gives me an idea for a late Mothers Day prezzie for her...

i don't think my friends carry fake bags.. but i have doubts about my fellow passengers on the subway.... How can 75% of the bags be LV?? Can so many people afford one??

Heh I had a roommate once in a big house who just took off, apparently she was a prostitute and got arrested and never came home (this was a room share thing LOL not someone I was friends with) but anyway after a few weeks we started going through her stuff to see what to do with it and there were all these fake plasticky LV bags, that looked okay from a distance but once I touched it...UGH.

It was pretty funny cuz at first we were all "ooh we get to go through her stuff" and then it became "ewww who wants to take this to Salvation Army"

I see them all the time... not too long ago, my friend said "oh look at my new Coach bag, I bought it from this girl at my son's daycare... she had a whole bunch in her trunk and it was only 60 dollars"... and she seriously thought it was real. And I know that sounds like an exaggeration, but every single syllable is true... I was just like,

I live about 3 hours from NYC and i would say 90% of the people i go to school with/ work with/ see at the mall carry either a coach/ LV/ chanel/ prada/ juicy/ or dooney and bourke bag. Most the dooneys are real, but as for all other brands, 95% are fakes...and BAD ones at that.

All of my friends carry authentic purses except for one of my friends. She admits that her LV monogram neverfull, LV vernis cles, and white Balenciaga City are fake.

She told me and my friends that the LV neverfull was bought from LV in Hotel Vancouver but confessed 2 weeks later that it was a knock off. I knew it was not real the first day because it already had a medium patina for a "brand new" bag. I tried not to be judgmental and avoided confrontation because she is my friend.

What ticks me off the most is that she has a black Balenciaga GHW city that she tries to pass off as authentic. She told me her model for her bag is a work but I knew the work did not have a long shoulder strap (the city has it!). Plus one of her GHW fell off. ANDD her story about her purchasing her Bal "work" at Holt Renfew is shady because the day she bought a wallet for her bf at Holt Renfew with me, she told the cashier she does not have an account at Holt Renfew (aka, never bought something before).

*sigh, what would you do? I don't think I'll confront her about her fake Balenciaga. She's my friend and also dating a close guy friend of mine. I guess friends are suppose to be supportive of others even though they may not see on the same page. Perhaps this bugs me a bit because she is trying to be someone she is not.

No way, all of my friends carry the real deal. A lot of the girls at my college do though, but they're VERY obvious fakes, otherwise I wouldn't be able to tell. I just assume everyone's bags are real unless they're obviously not. It's funny though because said girls will put their fake Louies on their desks and stare at them so as to draw attention. Sometimes I'm tempted to just tell them to stop.. I certainly would never show off my bags at school, and think it's beyond tacky when the girl doing so is in actuality carrying a fake.

i bought a few fakes while i was on vacation in Vietnam, but i've recently got rid of all of them.....
currently i'm into buying L.A.M.B. since it's not super popular yet i doubt there are counterfeits around

anyways i think most people who buy fake bags aren't really interested in bags, i bought those fake LV while i was in high school, and during that time i didn't even carry purses around...i bought them more because of the LV hype plus the style of the bag, it had a lots of shiny hardware....
i really only wore the fake bags less than 10 times
i only have one friend that has a fake bag, she also purchased in while on vacation...i think she bought it more because she had the opportunity rather then she sought it out...impulse purchase
it seems like a lot more people car starting the carry them around, or maybe i'm just noticing them

but for some people i think carrying fake bags is an attempt at gaining status...in my area some people carry a holt renfrew(similar to saks and nordstrom) shopping bag around. They carry it around so much that the paper bag starts to rip....it's really weird what people do to try to show off the fact that they made a purchase at a higher end store...

Most of my friends carry no-name purses, usually really cheap fake leather ones from H&M etc. One friend owns a DKNY fabric and leather purse, to her it is really a premium desinger bag. I am alone with my lust for higher end bags and none of my friends really understand why I spend so much money on them.

I live in an economically depressed rural county. Here a purse is a purse and quite frankly most folks could care less.

Which probably explains why I don't see many (if any) fake premier designer bags in my home county.

However, at the college where I work (in a nearby more affluent county), a few of our students from New York City wear what appear to be premier designer bags that may or may not be fake. Perhaps they believe we "rubes" wouldn't know the difference.
