Thank you for another great article. I have the Bearn compact, the Bearn wallet, and the Azap and love them all. I use the Azap as my every day work horse because I can stuff everything including my phone into it. The Bearns I use for my smaller bags. But could someone explain the difference between the different long Bearn wallets? I see listings on h.com for Bearn wallet, Bearn Classic wallet and Bearn Wallet, Medium Model.

Those are all of the same Bearn wallet. The "long" format comes in a bi-fold and a tri-fold configurations. Is there a medium Bearn wallet? Not seen one recently.

The “Bearn Wallet” has a gusset extension under the credit card slots which allows for storage of more bills or even to be used as a thin phone pocket. The “Bearn Classic Wallet” has this area sewn down into just a slip pocket to hold a paper or two. The “medium model” currently has two listings on the USA site; one with the gusset and one without so I feel that might be a generic name used when the detail-oriented H website posting person is on vacation. :) TLDR Hermès needs better naming schemes and better website listings.

Of the new styles I only have a Mini Convoyer, one of the first that Hermès issued, in evercolour (pewter) with permabrass fastening that I sometimes use as a small handbag when travelling. My 10 year old niece occasionally borrows it. The clasp is easy to use, the shape doesn’t fit my Iphone but otherwise it’s a carefree small wallet with a thin strap. I think it’s rather expensive and recently I have been taking my mini halzan in barenia on trips instead. The price is approximately the same but the halzan is more versatile and spacious. I might add that I use cardcases more than wallets. The mini Bearn wallet is my most used wallet, but usually I carry a Bearn cardcase. The wallets, like KW, Dogon is only use as a clutch.

NP! Loved the article, I’m SO glad you have been sharing your H knowledge in a broader audience!

I have used silk-in zipper wallet (whatever it’s called), the compact version, Constance long wallet, Constance compact and bearn (full size), and I have to say, to me it’s all about the leather. What lasted the longest is actually my barenia compact zip wallet (still using it, but for cards only), even though the silk pullie thing fell off awhile ago. (Btw B would you check with your sources if they make a compact Constance wallet in barenia? TIA!!!)

The shortest lasting was the kelly wallet, initially I really liked it, but the kelly buckle sticking out really bothered me, as it left a dent at the bottom of my bags!

The Constance long wallet takes up the most space, but to me also the prettiest. And now with the new woc design, the Constance wallet has become my favorite of all times. But then again, I think I would only go for a barenia version.

I am same, like you I wanted to love my K wallet but it has left dents in my SLGs when packed together inside my bags.
The toggle sticking out is really problematic and makes my K wallet the least used wallet. I want to use it as a clutch but it looks kinda weird as it just doesn't have the length.

I love the Bearn and compact Constance the most

I ended up selling my Kelly wallet for these reasons. My two remaining are my Dogon Duo and my Silkin (full size). They are both great. I think if I get a compact Silkin I’ll be all set.
