Ok so I went to Prov Coach today. The girl I dealt with was knowledgeable, nice and truly had a love of the product she was selling. HOWEVER they still wouldn't sell me the display model 
SOOOO I ordered it.. I should have it by friday.
On another note she showed me a picture of the new Carly with the big C print -- in JADE GREEN.. omg the bag is going to be gorgeous!

why cant they give display models? i got the charms from the displays when they had none left....

in any event maybe it's better - now I will know that people haven't been trying on, fondeling, touching my bag!! (and it will arrive in time for my vegas trip)...

When we bought my daughters slingback it was the last one they had so they sold her the display.
I think I would find a new botique to shop at. Those SA's aren't very nice to you. *hugs*

Thanks but it's SO close and it's the only one in Rhode Island... i would hate to travel to braintree/natick every time I wanted to oogle the bags.... although the stores are probably nicer...

Not sure why they didn't sell you the display...the co-worker I mentioned before that bough the Mandy got the display. Maybe it's different from store to store?

That's strange...I was also able to buy a display item when it was the only one left...last fall, I wanted the Hamptons Python Stripe hobo in black, and out of the 3 local stores in my area, only 1 had it and it was the display model, which they happily sold me!
i wonder why they wouldn't sell the display? maybe it was damaged, but they just didn't want to say?
i know we've bought my sister at least two bags that were on display. the second time we didn't want to (since it's the bag people play with/try on), but it was the last bag in the city, so we just went with it. regardless, it's perfect (not familar with coach, but it's a soho hobo in silver with dark chocolate trim).

3 nights ago I walked out of my boutique with the display of the Ergo Hobo in Turquoise. It was the last one left, they offered it to me, I checked it out, looked good, I took it.
I would definitely talk to a manager about getting the display. If you go in today, you could still have it to take your laptop in to work tomorrow!

That's true, but it's weird that they just flat out wouldn't sell the display. It seems like I'm forever picking out the last of what's in the store and though they do offer to order it for me, they wouldn't have a problem selling it either. If it's an accessory (like a scarf or something), I'll usually just take it, but if it's a bag I'll let them order it because I don't want to take their display away.
