I am so upset people.. how could that be possible... a couple of weeks ago I got a Tiffany cocktail ring in green quartz.. This one:

the rings come in full sizes only so I had to resize mine from size 6 to 5.5...
so I gave it back to them and 12 days later (yesterday) they call me back to pick it up..
I was so exited when I got the ring back I didn't even bother to take a closer look at it.. I just checked that the size is ok and left the store..
Anyways, today I took the ring out to admire its beauty and to my shock I found that they butchered my ring.. OMG.. how could that be possible.. It's Tiffany for God's sake.. If paid around a thousand dollars happily for a silver ring 'cause I know it had a superb craftsmanship.. but after the resizing.. I don't know what monkey resized my ring.. all the clasps are scratched or dented (I guess when they removed the stone to cut the metal).. and there is a dent/groove on one of the side bars that run parallel to the stone.. I am so bummed... how could that be possible.. If somebody takes a closer look at my ring now they will thing it's a fake tiffany since it's all screwed up now.. I swear it looks like a $40 silver ring right now...
I'm so pissed off I don't know what I'm gonna do..
I want a brand new one.. and I want it resized and still retain it's craftsmanship.. is that too much to ask?
I don't think they can save mine... and I don't know what I should demand when I take it back?
Is it feasible to ask for replacement? or do u think they will refuse?

I worked for a jewelry store for several years and the customer is always right (usually) I know we bent over backwards for our customers. I got my wedding set resized and didnt like how the band looked they ordered me a new one in my size (4.5) and let me keep my entire set with the band until that one was ready then I exchanged it. Just let them know you are unhappy they should work with you to resolve the issue!!!

Here are some pictures of the damage... please let me know what you think.. Am I being too picky?.. I really don't think so.. would u accept that ring?

In this picture you can see a dent in the middle of the upper boarder of the horizontal line running under the stone:

and these are the dents at the clasps:

I agree... it's one thing to bang up the ring yourself and view it as just part of having a ring acquire its unique "personality" but it's something else to take it to the jeweler & have it come out WORSE than you left it. You don't want to keep the ring & every time you look at it have it upset you.

Take it back & let us know how it went.

YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY NOT BEING "TOO" PICKY!!! Paying your hard earned money for something gives you the RIGHT to satisfaction!!! Also aside from the dents, (it might just be the picture) but it looks like your stone was set crooked. Take it back get a new one!

 I can't believe the jeweler that worked on that ring sent it back looking like that. Surely they noticed it. NO you are not being picky, and you should demand that they make it right.

I don't think you're being too picky at all. But I disagree that the ring can't be fixed. Take it back to Tiffany and let them know you won't take it back until it looks exactly like it did when you dropped it off the first time.

You are not being too picky at all...It is your full right to have your ring the same way it was, in a perfect condition so I encourage you to take it back to them and let them see for themselves the very poor workmenship they have...Very disappointing !!

That is BRUTAL. It should come back to you looking PERFECT - especially from Tiffany's. you're probably paying a huge premium just to have the name and what it represents (which should be good craftsmanship like you mentioned!!!) I'd be FURIOUS and take it back and demand a new setting. I don't see why they couldn't do it. Maybe Tyler Durden will respond to this thread and give you some advice! GOOD LUCK! I would just ask for a refund if they give you any 'tude.

So.. Just to update u ... I went today to tiffany's to show them their horrible craftsmanship. When I showed the ring to the customer service lady she was like: that's how the prongs r supposed to look like (I guess she was looking at the wrong place).. And when I showed her where she's supposed to look, she went like: oh ok that can be polished off.. She was not apologetic at all.. I told her how can that dent be fixed? She said our jewler will take a look at it... I tolf her I was actually gonna ask for a new one and she said that's not necessary.. They will fix it..
So i guess I'm gonna have to wait and see how it's gonna turn out.. If it didn't go back how it originally was.. I'm so getting a new one.
Thanks for all your support and I'll keep u updated
