Diamonds are plentyful & the choices are endless, almost, my happies are colored stones, alexandrite one of the favorites, the more rare stones are also on the list because there is so little. I have a Zultonite, color change, 1,000 times more rare than alexandrite, & its very neat to see it change colors as light changes on the stone-stevie...

Lovely thread :)
My first and far most are diamonds :) I am obsessed! my second would be chocolate diamonds yuuuum!!! I have 2 earings and a semi cuff that i am in love with and i can feel my heart craving more and more
Here is one of the earings it has both worlds! A diamond and a choco diamond! Love it to pieces!

I like colorless diamonds for my engagement ring and wedding band, and maybe a pendant. But for casual wears, I prefer sapphires (blue and pink), rubies, topaz and alexandrite. I just got back from Burma and got myself two pendants, one with blue sapphires and another with rubies.

In recent months, I've acquired quite a lot of ruby and sapphire pieces, and now, I find myself becoming a huge fan of colored gems! In fact, I think I prefer them to diamonds alone. To me, they seem so regal and elegant and stately.

So what about you? Which do you prefer? Diamonds or colored gems such as rubies, emeralds, sapphires, and so on?
Since Ive been collecting & building pendents, we only have 2 items with diamonds, all others are rare colored stones, I saw on this posting someone mentioned ruby & sapphire, these are my pendents-they are basic, showing the stones set in gold & nothing else as compliments, I think they show well though not as polished as most of the jewelry I see here, but thats us-stevie...;)[the pendents are sapphire, padparadscha?, & ruby, diamond & tourmaline]
