So, look at the side and back of this thing compared to the side and back of that hideous creature they are pushing on you.

You will notice that this one is super open, and that the diamond can get light from almost all around it. It's cast and or crafted from wire vs a stock die-struck mounting that is mass-produced which is what this one looks like because most likely they're just plucking something from a stock catalog and are looking for THE cheapest thing they can find to put your stone into. That just looks like some stock Stuller thing.

I inherited my grandmother's diamond studs and had planned to make a pendant for me and one for my daughter. I think they are about .5 carats each. The Barbara is EXACTLY what I've been thinking of! I also received a beautiful 20 inch scroll chain that I want to wear it on. As usual, Ame has the best suggestions!

Can speak re BG DBTY:
- No regrets, even though it is annoying that it slides.
- I hardly ever take it off and just fix it about every hour or so.
- My size is .35 but my mother's is .5 and it stays in place without sliding. Although, it still flips but goes back in the correct side on it's own.
- DD has the one that looks like Blue Nile and the setting takes away from the diamond.

I posted a review back in March w pics regarding it.

So, I cannot say that there is no issues w mine but not enough of an issue to not wear it. If I would change things, I would have gotten the .5 for a few hundred more.

Also, purchased DBTY bracelet by BG and love it, too!
Thank you @staceyjan for your thorough feedback.
0.5ct would be my choice.
The Tiffany's SA contacted me, there is one pendant available with lesser clarity quality, which makes the 0.5ct affordable. I will take a look and hope that I won't see any inclusions/clouds etc.

I know that I am still undecided, but at least I have exactly 2 options to choose from, which is a good range.

A slight sliding might even add a casual note, which compliments my style.

@ame I have been reflecting on your reply, concerning the fear to lose it.
I have been wearing the bean day in day out for weeks and lifted it with my hand, it is heavy, much heavier than DBTY in 0.5ct. BUT: it's a different design, a different approach so to say. I think I can live with a lightweight pendant.

Keeping my fingers crossed that the neckless which is on its way to the store will meet my expectations.
If not, the pendant at the local goldsmith would be my sparkling alternative. ;)
