Thanks for replying.
I tried to research online but couldn't find a thing.
I will check it out a little further.
I wonder if anyone has ever seen one and what they think of it.
Just went to his website and the concave cut looks beautiful although I haven't seen it in a diamond, still looking at all the other stones, I'm glad you suggested him to me, I'm going to enjoy myself looking at all the stones and cuts of them. There is so much information there. Thanks again!

Hi. I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this. If not, my apologies and if anyone could tell me where I should post would be appreciated. I'm getting a deal on a diamond riviera necklace and want to know if it really is a deal. It's 17 inches, 7 carat diamonds, clarity SI1-2, color H-I. I love the necklace but not sure if it's that good a deal. I'm getting it for US$9,000 and it's 14kt white gold. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I'm new to the world of diamonds and the forum so not sure if I can start new post.

In a poorly cut stone, irregular facets. In a well cut stones, even facets that just don't create the pattern. Say the arrowhead might be clipped or something. Superideals tend to be cut deliberately to display the pattern. The pattern is really a result of symmetrical alignment of the facets. MOST well cut diamonds do display it but not all.

I am not sure if this is the right forum for my query. We bought my engagement ring last year in the antique market Alfie's in London. It is a beautiful replica of a 1920's cocktail ring. Since then,2 of the diamonds have fallen off, and I am worried more will be lost.

Is this common? Or does it mean that the ring is of poor quality? Can it be returned? I have insurance on it, however I am gutted that it's is essentially losing its value every time a diamond falls off.

It's not loosing it's value. Just send it to a jeweler to fix falling stones and perhaps to do some re polishing and plating, so it will look like new again There is a chance for diamonds to fall if you are a heavy user. If you need to make sure, ask jeweler to check all other stones if it's set sturdy enough.
