Hi, ladies! Can I get your opinion on this ring? I've been looking for an affordable diamond cocktail ring. I recently found this one on sale for $199, originally $600. Plus, I had a coupon for 30% off bringing the grand total to $140 plus tax (free shipping). I know this is not the highest quality diamond ring, but I just want something fun to wear for the holidays without breaking the bank. :D

What do you think? Is it super cheap looking? I definitely wouldn't have spent $600 on it. If it's hideous, please let me know - you will not hurt my feelings!

Here are the details:

Ring Details:
  • Width: .46 in.
  • Metal: rhodium-plated sterling silver
Diamond Details:
  • Total weight: 1 ct.
  • Cut: round
  • Color: J-K
  • Clarity: I3
  • Setting: pave

Not my cup of tea. But I wear gemstone solitaire type of cocktail rings. Just personal preference.

For the price, it's not that bad if they are natural diamonds. I can see some ladies pull this off beautifully. As a matter of fact, my mother in law has exact this. She is rocking it

Thanks so much for your feedback! They are natural diamonds; I was contemplating a similar ring with Swarovski crystals but decided to get this one. I can see why this ring wouldn't appeal to everyone. Actually, I can see my MIL wearing something like this too - LOL! If I don't like it when I see it in person, I can give it to her for Christmas. :D

To be honest it's about as bad of a quality as you can get. Don't be surprised if the diamonds look like the infamous "frozen spit". I also wouldn't be surprised if they fall out. I would rather a good quality gemstone ring set in Silver. At least it would hold up.

Yikes! I'm not sure what "frozen split" means but it doesn't sound good! Thanks for your reply - I appreciate it!

The design of this ring is nice. My concern is that at that price point, the diamonds may not be sparkly, and that will spoil the whole look. If that is indeed the case, a gemstone ring or a Swarovski one may actually look better.

maybe something in white sapphire would be a better bet? you can get a nice clarity white sapphire in this price range, or even white topaz?

Great idea -- thanks for the suggestion!

You're right -- thank you! The ring should be delivered soon; I will definitely be returning it if the diamonds look anything like the photo willwrk4bags posted.

I like the style of the ring too. If the diamonds aren't pretty and sparkly though, definitely send it back. Swarovski has a ridiculous amount of sparkle, and will look much prettier than dirty/cloudy diamonds.
