Ohhh. so glad to have found this ...
dying for a diamond by the yard for quite some time now...

Now that Im turning 37 in a month, its about time...

Ok.. fab TPF members...esp twin53... i went on ross simons website.. and thanks for the heads up on the sale.

DBTY owners... what's the longest chain that you have found on this?
i was hoping i could go longer than 18 inches as i really want it to be long necklace.. somewhere in the 25 inches or longer?

i would rather buy this first than the chanel ones as i think im getting more bang for my buck ... although chanel's resale value is not bad at all... :p

La francaise, I don't like to wear my jewelry to bed. This necklace is bezel set so I believe that it would not cause me any problems if I did. I am sure a jeweler could set your diamond in a bezel setting for peace of mind. Good luck!

amacasa-Happy early birthday! I thought a long chain in this necklace would look stunning wrapped twice or third times. I have seen the super long ones. They are out there. Happy jewelry hunting!

i have the tiffany platinum diamond by the yard.. and the diamonds are pretty small. i dont wear it all that often... and it wasnt cheap.

i would go with a non-tiffany brand and get more bang for your buck.

i didnt know that..maybe thats why i cant find one!!! the problem is when im wearing mine, the diamonds wont stay flat, all the pointed sides face the front and it really bugs me..

^^ Ah! Certain styles (brands/makes) are better than others. Maybe others can chime in on which brands they've had the best luck with. I've heard the whiteflash.com version is pretty good and doesn't flip as much. Also, if you're willing to have one diamond only (pendent style), the versions that slide flip less. Mine slides and does not flip at all.

If it's rolling on you then you may want to consider changing the length. Or there are diamond by the yard necklaces that have actually two diamonds set in the bezel so when they roll you only see diamond. It's a win-win situation:D

I agree with CrystalDreams, I followed up with an ebay seller for a dbty style necklace and met him at his 47th Street kiosk in the Diamond District in NYC. The necklaces did not have the sparkle shown in the photos. I also checked out Roberto Coin's dbty (actually, inch) and the melees were very tiny (about .07 pts) with no bling (and too heavy bezel setting). I agree that Tiffany's versions are over priced (but gorgeous). I would recommend WhiteFlash and see what they can offer you (the price will definitely be better). Never tried Blue Nile but a lot of folks seem happy with them too.
