Diamond by the Yard Necklace

I want a DBYN. I don't neccessarily want a Tiffany necklace, but I want to get the most bang for my buck. I have found a jeweler in Houston who sells this style. The necklace that I am considering has 7 stones with a total weight of a 1/3 of a carat set in 14kt white gold for 800 dollars. Is this a good price or am I better off purchasing the Tiffany 3 stone in platinum for 1100 dollars? I have three months before my anniversary so I do have time to research other merchants.

Out of all of the Tiffany's jewelry, this is one that I feel that you don't get your bang for your buck. My husband purchased the one with the 5 diamonds for $1040.00 and I was so disappointed. I returned it and got a large heart key with a 24' chain.

I would purchase the one from the Houston jeweler.

Bextasy got a gorgeous one made. She has a reveal of it if you do a search. She got more bang for her buck by getting it made instead of going with the Tiffany's one and it looks a lot better!

Having one made it a great idea. I found one on Ebay. It is for sale by an established jewelry co. in NYC. I may order it by Friday.

I dont think $800 is much less than the $1100 Tiffany charges. For the $300 I'd go with Tiffany. But I bet you can get it for about $550 or so if you really shop around. Tiffany diamonds have a very high markup. And yes I noticed Ebay diamond district wholesalers have the design as well and for a great price.
