I would highly recommend the LV Lockit Horizontal - it's a good sized shoulder bag with a zipper, and large enough to keep you organised, fits files & documents and definitely all your stuff, plus it can even hold a laptop if necessary, not to mention with just enough space for a sweater or scarf in winter. Oh and it has leather too and the canvas will last you forever. Hope this helps.

I don't have a specific bag picked for you but knowing that you are 5 foot and petite, and knowing what you need to carry and where you plan to carry it, consider a taller bag instead of wide. A hobo style bag may not be the best choice for your shape. Wide bags can look a bit overwhelming on a petite women and taller bags can be elongating. Consider outside pockets for the coke can and umbrella. Think about a secure closure that is Easy to open if you will be traveling on the subway, or anywhere for that matter. A shoulder starp, or even one that will go across the body may be good for you since you sound like a busy gal. Something durable like high quality leather would be good too if you are planning to carry this bag every day and possibly set it on the floor, deal with condensation from soda cans..etc... dear i am gonna suggest a Blenciaga too.. the "city" size which i believe is great for your needs!! they have it in black this fall.. and other LoOoOovely colors like brown and other colors! and its a zip top kind!!

its worn by a celebrity here.. and i believe its a "city" size that she is carrying..(not sure cause "work" size is a bit larger than "city" :smile1: )

the city size comes with this shoulder strap!! so u can choose to hold it in ur hand with the handles.. or with the strap on ur shoulder! :wlae:

WOW,,... i mean WOW!!!!!!!!! I'm just so overwhelmed by all your responses!!!! I LOVE YOU ALL!!! I've been to other bag forums but by far, this is the best one! I'm glad I got the recommendation for the usual suspects that I was already considering PLUS all the new bags that I didn't know existed! I lOVE this forum and I LOVE ALL OF You!!! :)

I just got this bag in a goorgeous chocolate brown:

It's the Goldenbleu Katherine Medium and I can't recommend it enough! The leather quality will just amaze you, and the inside is all suede. Love it. Good luck with your hunt!

I use a Gustto and really like it. The style I have is squared off compared to the ones described above. Brown with gold leather details. It zips close on top and holds all you stated and more. I actually use it as a carryon. I get alot of compliments especially from the valets at hotels!
