DES in Sydney, Australia

Hey!
So it’s been 3 months and I wish I had done them sooner! They have settled really well and I have had no issues at all. They do still get a bit of swelling/puffiness in the mornings when waking up, but nothing anyone else would notice, just me. I just took a photo with no makeup or lashes on and I woke up about 1.45hrs ago just to give you an idea.
I did full incisional DES and that’s it.
It’s crazy, no one even noticed I had anything done! It was such a subtle and natural change, couldn’t be happier.
Are you looking to get just DES or something else?

Just DES, I’ve had them done maybe 10 years ago but it was non incisional and the fold is not visible anymore and my eyes aren’t very even now so wanting to fix that.
I live in QLD though and can’t seem to find any plastic surgeons that do it here.

Thank you!! I’m sooo happy with them and so glad I did it. It was scary at first, but everything went much better than I anticipated. A very positive experience and I wish I had done it sooner. Very happy to answer any little question, as I’m super appreciative of the people that helped me with my questions! It’s hard to get any stories from DES procedures done in Australia!

***Update***

Officially 4 months post-op!!

Honestly feels so surreal to me that it’s already been 4 months?!!! Safely starting to settle into the fact that my lids won’t change much from here and I couldn’t be happier!!

Also proud to say I finally got to do eyelash extensions!!! It’s always bothered me that my eye shape + my hooded lids could never really pull off lashes until I started wearing tape or when I have eyeshadow on and really glammed myself up. Last week I finally got lashes and am IN LOVEEEEEE. Definitely think I’ll try cat eye next time though but, honestly it’s been amazing.

1 thing to note is that my scar has been hurting a bit...? Not sure if this is normal, but sometimes when I go to swipe the oil off my lids, I can feel this stinging pain on the scar. I’ve tried to Google this, but doesn’t seem to be a major issue.

Other than that, my left eye is still folding below the incision BUT good news is, it hasn’t dropped any further from what I can see.

Hey, if you don’t mind, could you share a photo with me on DMs?

My eyelids were folding along the incision from the time I came out of surgery. I will say though, towards the end of my eyelids, the fold goes under the incision line. It’s way less obvious now given the time that’s passed, but it had started doing that very early on.

Without seeing yours, I’d say it could potentially be that you may still be swollen. Everyone’s recovery is different!

Mine folded straight away after the surgery, both eyes were quite swollen but there was still a clear fold. But 8 weeks is still early I guess, have you got a follow up appt ?

Hello! I have a follow up appointment in 4 weeks time. I was told for now to firmly massage my eyelid x2 a day for 5 minutes. Dr Anh is hoping the massaging will cause the third fold on my eye to detach (the one above the incision).

ah ok, yes I had a little bit of an undesirable fold on the inner of one of my eyes right after getting it done and i massaged it. It went away and now i can tell it was just the swelling causing it. Once the swelling subsided, it all settled and looked much better.
If Dr Anh doesn’t seem too concerned, then I wouldn’t be
