The DL packets that get emailed out have expected ship dates for which colors but do not specify which stores, large or small, pro or retail.
 
I now have two emails from shopurbanbeautybar, saying they didn't have the polishes to sell, that it was a mistake, blahblahblah, we'll refund your $300 purchase by x time period. I've opened a Paypal claim at this point, seeing as all I'm getting are excuses and broken promises. I preferentially shop online for nail polish, and I will notnotnot be buying from shopurbanbeautybar ever in the future. From where I sit right now, I can't tell if they're just completely unequipped to run a business or whether they're actual crooks. I have been told it's illegal to pre-charge merchandise well before shipping date, unless the customer consents, and I did NOT consent to a pre-charge with that site.

I'm so sorry I posted a link to them in this thread. I will PM a mod about deleting or editing it.
 
I got a brief email sent by someone named Jenn from her iPhone saying that the polishes are on backorder and she will let me know when they'll be in...I replied asking for my order to be cancelled and a refund to be issued and haven't received a response. I should have just gone with my initial instinct that they were shady and not placed an order!
 
I didn't order from that site because I knew something like this would happen :/ it's too soon for any stores to have the holiday collections. I actually e-mailed them a few days ago asking if they had the polishes in stock, but they never responded.

From her iphone? They are a very small company which means they will get the polish in stock once all of the other small businesses (if they are one) get their polishes. The polishes are not out yet so there is no backorder.


Nordstrom can possibly have the polishes first since they have gotten an exclusive before, so Nordstrom's I am not sure about.


Those dates above are for pro and retail sell and came directly from a DL rep.


Hopefully, you ladies get your money back. And, hopefully all of you used Paypal!!! Good luck!
 
Just noticed that the Nordstrom website indicates the Anniversary Sale starts July 15th. ALU said Get That Party Started would be available July 1st, but it also says "during the Anniversary Sale".

I sure hope it's the 1st... I've been all excited about picking these up Friday before my hair appointment. :wondering


Has someone called a Nordstrom rep to at least try to see if they can answer? I don't shop at Nordstrom online but do they normally have pre-orders available? Does someone have an SA at Nordstrom to ask, so we can eliminate the speculations?


lol My nerves get bad and I hate waiting so I would just call and try to see if someone can answer your concerns.

I'll probably wait until Friday, but only because I have a hair appointment anyway and I literally have to walk through Nordstrom to get to my salon. If I was making a special trip, I'd probably call first...

I can understand your frustration GGA, I luckily received apologies and immediate notification of a refund from them. I really don't think the store are crooks, I think they were just unaware of the store being live/didn't know how to hide things and make them preorder. I will possibly order in the future if it looks a bit more finished (At least I know she responds to emails - much better than some stores I've used) as butter London and Lippmann are hard to come by here.

In other news, I really can't wait to see swatches of Stairway to Heaven, I can't tell if it will lean more towards her dense glitters, or whether it will be more like Glitter in the Air.

I finally heard back from them again around 5 pm, when they said they were struggling to do a refund, that they couldn't figure out how. I got refunded at 6 pm or so.

I agree with you that they're not crooks. They're certainly not ready for business yet, though. When they've got some seasoning and are better equipped to fill orders, I'll probably try again.
