I have a little rant about Deborah Lippman.

I bought a bottle of Hit me with your Best Shot about a year ago....

I never ever wore it nor opened it... I just went to go pick it up now.. and its completely in two layers. Totally seperated.

Clear Polish on top and black stuff on the bottom.

Has this happened to anyone else...?? I have Opi polish over 10 years old that look like the day I bought them.... This is twice the price and looks like a cheap bottle of polish.

If you really really want it then I think you should get it again and save it for weekends or for whenever you don't work. If you think you can pass on it even though you like it, then do that. Lol decisions, decisions... :thinkin:

Hit me with your Best Shot was released with Waking up in Vegas right? Because all the bottles of Waking Up in Vegas' I saw at Nordstrom were separated and the bottles themselves were stained orange on the top. I really wanted it, but if they could stain glass, I don't want to know what those particular polishes would do to my nails. Maybe it was a bad batch...

Oooh really well how long ago was that..?? Maybe I got an old bottle. They are still selling it on the website.. etc. etc.

....What color is Waking up in Vegas that it turned it orange?

I first saw them about 2 months ago? It might have been 1.5 months. But they were around for at least 3 weeks before someone removed them from the floor. It was actually a Taupe color, but I've seen this happen with other brands, most notably Barielle, I've never bothered to look up why this happens though.. :shrugs:

I don't mind seeing it happen with a cheaper brand like Barielle, Wet n Wild.. etc.... but when your paying $14-$18.00 a bottle.. plus tax. It shouldn't happen.

See, now THAT is more what I was expecting. I LOVE it.

The swatch in the link looks NOTHING like that - in fact, the swatch from Varnish Vixen looks exactly like DL Supermodel. Even the polish itself looks jellyish like Supermodel in the bottle (which is clearly marked LARAS THEME on the bottom).

I think it has to do with light & temperature making the polish "go bad". The only explanation I can think of is the chemicals "denaturing" the way proteins denature.

This happened to me with Waking Up In Vegas but it's not just DL. It happens with some CG and OPIs I own too. I just shake the bottle up and apply. It's not bad per se. That's what all the bloggers I know do too. As long as application and wear is okay it should be good.

But I know what you mean. It's just cause it's polish and storing condition or something (not sure what).

Yeah.. I have no problem shaking it.. Just found it odd for a $16.00 bottle. I have seen it happen with cheap brands.
