Dear ma’am that did not want her SO

Although I have never declined my own SO, I can now understand why some do. Please do remember that if the SO has taken up to 3 years that's a possible 3 price increases in the meantime. Some members have already mentioned that the bag may have been offered in similar or better PO specs in the meantime or might not arrive in the exact specs ordered. The customer may not be able to pick up within the time frame given or may have other personal reasons to decline. The result is a totally surprised and happy customer such as Mrs Cravin. Enjoy!

Slightly off subject, but my SA mentioned prices are going up in 2019. Also that shipping to a state with no boutique isn’t going to save you on tax anymore either. They’ve adopted the “amazon tax” as well where all online orders will be taxed regardless of boutique (except for NH which doesn’t have sales tax)

I declined one SO K 28. It took 2 years and the color was not what I ordered. I have more orders outstanding the longest is going on 3 years. I totally understand why people decline. A lot can happen in between placing an order and it finally arriving.

I would happily decline an SO I didn't love.
1) H gives you no time frame and no updates and SOs can take 4 years or more - I've never had one take less than 1.5 years. Easy enough to fall out of love with a bag or a color, or acquire a near duplicate, let alone not having the $ when a bag shows up. 2) Prices change and there's never an exact quote til the bag comes in. H can't expect me to roll with both random arrival and random price. 3) H makes random changes as well! 4) I've been given less than 2 weeks to fly to London to get a bag or lose it - thanks but no thanks!
Congrats to the OP and look forward to seeing this bag. Love the colors and Togo sellier.

Congratulations on such a lucky score! What a dear husband, indeed.

Is this confirmed regarding tax for states with no boutique? Any idea when this goes into effect?

It was a recent Supreme Court ruling that business who do more than $100,000 in revenue with a state must pay taxes for it. Most states have laws in place to begin taking effect at the start 2019. Since it’s easier to implement on a full scale than partially, most companies will simply implement it across the country.

SA was telling me that she has a client that has a bag coming for $19k. This client always has her bags shipped to Maryland but since this bag is in transit from France that it might not get here before the New Year. If that ends up being the case, then there is no point in shipping it since it will be more expensive once you tack on the shipping cost on top of tax. So long answer to your question, from that I assume it’s Jan 1

Simply gorrrrrrgeeeeeeeoussss. What a treat to see a TOGO Sellier in such a superb CW combo. Thank you for sharing. Merry Christmas!!

SA was explaining that most sellier are epsom so that this bag is a little more unique than most. I’m glad it doesn’t have the contrast stitching that I’ve seen on other SOs as this has the perfect amount of pop for the wife.

Merry Christmas to you as well.

My state has no boutique and as of last Thursday use tax is in effect. I had the option of shipping to a nearby state to avoid tax or just paying the tax. Sigh.

Use tax and sales tax are not the same. Many states have had use tax in place for some time - it’s just rarely enforced in many (Louisiana is an example in my experience).
Theoretically, sales tax should obviate use tax.
