In the fourth picture, is that a plastic covering I see around the vachette tab? LV never uses any plastics, ever, in their packaging FYI; never have and never will regardless of line, year, model or factory.
I just noticed that. This must not be a LV, would be my guess.
That would be my assumption as well. The alignment on the top edge is ever so slightly off as well. I can feel a conversation coming with said friend.

I just received my new speedy b 30 in DE after ordering over the phone last week. I can’t find the date code in it. It’s not under the flap or stamped onto any of the other leather pieces. I also noticed that the DE handles and strap are not as shiny as they used to be - I’ve had this bag previously in a 35 before I decided it was too big. I also compared the handles to the DE luggage tag I have and they don’t match.
Has production changed since I made my last DE purchase several years ago? has anyone else ever received a bag with no date code? I’m wondering if supply issues has something to do with it. Anyway, I like the bag, I’m just curious. I don’t have a store in my state so ordering online or via phone are my only options.

LV just stopped using date codes and now have microchips. As for the DE, the leather was changed a few years ago.
