Dashing December Purchases 2021

I need to send in my Sarah wallet, which I adore, for a repair. Therefore! It was time to pull the trigger on all the other wallets I’ve wanted so as to tide me over while she’s away haha

1) Giant Monogram Reverse Sarah wallet (M80726) — the website description is wrong. It does not have two inside flat pockets. It’s >$100 more than the normal Sarah wallet, so then I thought maybe I’d just buy another (normal) Sarah since I hate being without it so much. Well, it looks like the normal Sarah wallets were redesigned — they now only have one inside flat pocket (assuming its website description is correct). Note that the normal Sarah still has four more card slots, though, vs the Giant Monogram Reverse Sarah….

2) Giant Monogram Reverse Zoe (M80725) — the one I received has the wrong color thread on the flap, which I wouldn’t have even noticed except for the fact that there are also six or so stitches of the correct color that emphasize the rest being wrong. Per the website photo, at least, it should all be light like the Sarah.

3) Monogram Zippy Coin Purse (M60067) — I almost want to keep this because it made me laugh, at least. The stitching is crooked enough for me to notice. Look starting at the top left. The canvas itself is slanted, too, a few degrees counter clockwise. It’s obviously not perfectly centered, which doesn’t both me, but it’s also tilted!! lol

I am already terrified of being flagged for ordering so many SLGs, and now I’m terrified I’ll be banned for returning them!!!

All three were made in France, by the way. Thanks in advance for commiserating with me.

So my Evelyne tpm was supposed to be my Christmas present this year but we bought it before the whole house got Covid and I had to take care of everybody. So Dh thought I deserved another goodie. He picked up this denim neo speedy after i mentioned liking that denim was coming back.

Hello! I’m sorry to jump in like this but I have a very unexpected “dilemma.” Using the quotes because obviously it is a nice problem to have… for Christmas, my husband surprised me with a capuchines bb in black with GHW. I was not expecting any bag, much less one so expensive. The issue is that I’m not sure it is a bag that fits my life right now- I have 2 small kids (no diapers) so I usually carry epi pens and things like hand wipes. The size of the bb means that it could really only be a date night type bag for me, and we unfortunately don’t get out alone all that much- especially during Covid.

I have to decide pretty quickly if I should keep the capucines, exchange for something else, or just return. If I exchanged, I’m eyeing the pochette metis in black empriente or monogram, but I know they can be hard to find and I’ve never actually seen one in person. My current “collection” consists only of a speedy b 30 in DE, which I use as my everyday bag, and a Gucci disco in black that is my night out bag.

I’m leaning toward trying to make an exchange, but my husband is urging me to hang onto the capucines. He picked it out in a store and says the quality and construction is better than a lot of other bags, and he thinks it is a classic style that I will get plenty of use out of over the years.

Any thoughts or opinions would be welcome, especially from anyone more experienced with LV (which I’m guessing is everyone here, haha).

Your husband bought you the bag and wants you to keep it. Keep it. Your lifestyle will change as your kids grow. This is a classic bag with meaning as he purchased it for you. No comparison between the capucines and a pochette Métis. You could always get a PM at another time.

How about exchanging the BB for the MM if it's the size that is bothering you? The PM in empriente is fairly easy to find at the stores but even that I am not sure would be enough to carry everything you are talking about (epi pen, wipes, wallet, keys, catch-all pouch, phone, etc) and you might have to downsize. I vote for keeping it since it really is a very nice bag and as your kids get older you might not need a really big bag.

I think you should just keep it. The Capucines is their top of the line collection. Your husband picked that bag out for you because he thinks you deserve the best. He could have gotten you other bags for half the price. He even knew to get it in black which goes with everything.

It's a gorgeous bag, congratulations! Your husband did an amazing job picking it out and took the time to understand LV construction. Definitely keep it or exchange for an MM size.

This is such a classy bag! I think the bb size is best. I’ve seen the bigger ones with the leather losing it’s shape a bit - I mean it is leather after all but I don’t find it as nice when it has that slouchy leather going on. The bb size seems to keep its shape! Tough decision, but I love how your hubby went in to look for a good construction bag good luck with it!
