That's right..I know you have one and absolutely love it. Do things clank around in there when you're walking or does it seem pretty stable? I know this is a weird question but I tend to get a little anal-retentive when it comes to my fragile possessions:p

For me, it's just the right size where all of my stuff fits but doesn't move around too much in the bag. The lack of pockets doesn't really bother me :D Let us know what you decide!

Oh my gosh, I knew the Papillon was old but wow! My fear is walking into the boutique and getting so overwhelmed with infatuation that I buy on impulse! I just want to walk out w/ one bag so I must maintain some willpower or I'd go crazy! But I'm older so want something mature but yet still funky. That's my predicament I guess.

I would look at them all I too am "older" than most of this wonderful crowd!!! But I love my Damier Papillon and agree with the other post it looks squished under the arm and the vachetta will get darker. Go for the Papillon damier first (or which ever you chose, after owning several I just didn't want to worry about the light leather again) and then set your sites on the other! Purchase yourself a valentines gift 2 months from now!

LOL! Maybe I should do that cuz I don't think my husband would buy me one! His passion for purses isn't quite crazed as mine. I'll let y'all know what I decided...thx for the help again!

i love damier because it was the original pattern used in the 1800s on louis vuitton luggage. also, it isn't nearly as garish as the monogram. the only thing i don't like about the damier is the fact that the trim is the brown leather... damier bags originally had vachetta trim, and i think that looks much better. if i ever decide to buy a vuitton bag i plan on having a custom order done so i can have damier with vachetta trim.

Wow..they can do that? How much would that be? I kinda like the brown leather just for the simple sake of its low-maintenance aspect...call me lazy in that regard I guess:laugh: .

there is nothing better than damier with vachetta.

I will still pass on the vachetta with that bag I know I wouldn't like the leather when it develops a patina. Honey and damier doesn't sound right to me. Thankfully they make bags for all of us!

I tend to concur with you on the vachetta vs. the darker leather. Although it looks pretty to me w/ the vachetta, I would lean more towards the darker leather. In my opinion, it seems like it would maintain its longevity.:amuse:

That is quite breathtaking. Is that your own pic? The more and more I look at the damier material, the more it grows on me!
yes, that is my damier chelsea tote, i took that pic this summer before i really started using it... the leather has a gorgeous patina now...

i think the vachetta really compliments damier. i wouldn't own anything else. i also have a damier/vachetta alma, which i meant to originally post, but i couldn't find a pic:
