Lots of people leave the mirror in the dustbag, but I like to keep the mirror with the bag (although I've almost never used it!).
This is how I attach my mirror - a bit different to how it comes when newly-bought.
I do this, so
*I can keep the mirror with the bag
*the leather cord attached to the mirror does not wear away being rubbed away by the zippers and
*you never know when you might have spinach between your teeth
Face your Bbag, with the outside zippered compartment facing toward you.
Take your mirror out, with the leather cord attached to it.
Open your main compartment zipper FULLY, all the way to the LEFT side.
Next, attach/loop the leather cord of the mirror to the handle bale that is on the LEFT side of the handle's LEFT bale. This will be towards the left corner of the small, inner zippered pocket as it faces you.
Flick the fully opened zipper up and towards the center of your bag to reveal a little gap big enough to fit your mirror comfortably through.
Now, thread the mirror and its attached leather cord THROUGH that big space between the zip of the main compartment, so it goes inside the little space between the very edge of the main compartment and your main compartment's zip.
Put the mirror in your bag's inner compartment, so the point where the leather cord is attached to the corner of the mirror is at the bottom left hand corner of the small inner zippered compartment.
You can now open and close your zippers on your bag without harming the leather on your leather mirror cord, plus the mirror is easy to access if you ever need to use it.
You can still zip your mirror into the inner compartment without any problem, but I just leave that compartment open, as my main compartment is always zipped up.

I just take the tassle off the mirror and pop it in the front zippered pocket. I actually do use it every so often.

Thanks all for your tips. I am really excited to use the mirror because I've only ever used a tiny mirror that came with my blush. The new leather smells so good!!

SkyBlueDay, I think you can write a series of instructions for different stuff. I remember you started the thread on how to remove the shoulder thingy from the shoulder strap.
Hi tinydancer3145, I don't know how to post pictures of my Mac: so many people have given me tips, but none seem to work.
The Bale is on the one on the side where the inner zippered compartment is, so when you look at the Bbag with the front zippered section faing you/towards you, the bale (as you look at the bag) is on the Left hand side of the handbag. This is because I like to pop the mirror in the inner pocket with the leather cord closer to the side to which the inner zip slides to close.
If you never close the zipper of the inner pocket, then it doesn't matter whether you attach your mirror to the outside handle bale on the Left or Right.

And I know the instructions are really long and easy to lose oneself in.
I read them back to myself and think I probably wouldn't follow it too well, unless I had already done it once myself.
ieuweuys - I spend so much time fiddling around with things that if I find they work for me, I love to share the information - only I wish I could do it in a way so that the suggestions are really easy to follow without pictures
