Croisette - a classic? Thoughts in 2020

I wonder if it's less popular than the metis because it doesn't come in monogram.

That could definitely be the reason. Many (first time) buyers prefer the monogram and the Metis is most popular in canvas. The Empreinte versions also do not hold their value as well as the canvas ones. In the beginning I, too, was hoping for a monogram Croisette but not anymore.

I don't like to duplicate either. I think for people who really like the Croisette the Bond bb is a nice second option to own.

Yay, another ‚no duplicate‘ bag lover Actually, I looked into the Bond BB when there was this beautiful rich, dark burgundy color. It was the most beautiful fall winter color and the size & shape of the bag are perfect. However, the strap is attached to the flap of the bag and not the sides. This makes it a hassle to me when opening the bag as the whole bag automatically moves while opening it.

I agree with your whole post, I love my croisette as well.

Have you looked at a Clunny bb? It could be a good winter bag. And it’s another one that doesn’t get much love

Thank you and glad you love yours, too!

Yes, I have and unfortunately it has the same ‚issue‘ as the Bond BB..

I love my Croisette in DA:happydance:!! Its so versatile I can wear it as a crossbody or take off the strap and use it as a handbag. I remember when I first seen it, I couldn't stop thinking about it until I bought it! It looks like it may not hold a lot, but I carry in it my mini pochette, victorine wallet, 6 key holder, cell phone S10 plus, and my round coin purse.

The print is classic. The bag is not. (My unpopular opinion) - It takes 20 years of continuous production and sales for a bag to be considered a 'classic'. Classics are Alma, Speedy, Keepall, and Noe. Neverful is not a classic, PM is not a classic. A lot of bags have a classic look, though.
The Croisette is a long term trend, just like 95% of bag styles from LV.
20 years ago everyone thought the Monceau was a classic. Now no one has ever heard of it. I can think of many like that.
The Croisette is an adorable & practical small bag, though.

I have a Croisette in DA but bought the DE version this July. I would agree that it is specious and not heavy. I also like the design. The S-lock is tolerable. I am hoping that it will become a classic and will hold its value or more, similar to Eva

It's a classic top handle bag. It won't ever look out of date to the general public. I don't use it with the tassel--I don't like anything bouncing around my bag.

For LV, the bag probably won't be in production in 2 or 3 years. At that point the only people who will recognize that it's out of production are LV employees and members of tPF.

It's one of my favorite bags. I love the lady-like, structured, top-handled look of it (but I can still wear it crossbody, so it is eminently practical). I think it is gorgeous in the DA with the RB interior (the DA is just my basic neutral palette). When I want something that holds a bit more than my PA, it's what I reach for. The only con is I am not a fan of the tassel, which I find distracting, and which my young, playful cat finds incredibly enticing. I just don't wear the tassel. My husband thinks I am mean and should surrender it to the cat as a toy. It's one of our "classic" family arguments.
